Description

Charming and romantic suite with stone walls and traditional furnishings. It sleeps 4, double bed + futon. For couples or families. It has a small terrace with a panoramic view of the river and the valley where you can have breakfast and spend moments of total relaxation. And if you want to take advantage of our wellness treatments, we have a "holistic center" where you can do all kinds of massages, ozone treatments for the face and body, both aesthetic and curative, and many others. The space The B&B "La Voce del Fiume" is a historic residence located in the Medieval Village of Brienza, in Vicolo del Carmine, a few meters from Piazza del Sedile, from which a comfortable and gentle staircase leads to the medieval village, up to the majestic Caracciolo Castle. The Bed and Breakfast "La Voce del Fiume", while having preserved the original characteristic elements of the structure, is a rare opportunity to sleep in a medieval village. The B&B combines, in an exclusive and balanced combination, ancient environments and new comforts. It has comfortable, air-conditioned accommodations, ideal for a romantic getaway or for a holiday dedicated to rest and relaxation. The B&B "La Voce del Fiume" has 7 comfortable rooms, each with private bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, air conditioning. Each room has a wonderful panoramic view of the valley where the town stands, lapped by the Pergola and Fiumicello streams and the mountains that surround it. For its particular historical and architectural value, the palace of "La Voce del Fiume" has been registered among the Environmental and Cultural Heritage of Basilicata and, after a careful conservative renovation, has returned to its ancient splendor, opening its doors to tourists and holidaymakers. Those who stay there cannot help but admire its small and large architectural gems. From the entrance portals with wooden canopies and original tiles, which define the typical facade of the "local building", to the characteristic wooden frames with shutters. From the window frames and the stringcourse to the wrought iron railings. From the interior walls with exposed stones to the original terracotta and parquet floors, all perfectly restored. But in addition to being a Historic Residence, a quality B&B listed among those in the comfort category, and being the only accommodation in the medieval village of Brienza, La Voce del Fiume is above all a place where you feel good. In fact, very good. The ideal "buen retiro" for holidays and weekends. Great for couples, families and small groups. What makes it welcoming is the attention to the guest and the pleasure of receiving. A pleasure that is captured in many details, from the reception to the carefully prepared and abundant breakfast. And in the warmth of the rooms, starting with the living room furnished in nineteenth-century style, a perfect corner for conversation and relaxation. Or the room layouts, where there is no shortage of typical wrought iron beds, antiques, objects and furnishings of local art. And then there is the charm and beauty of the stone, the soul of the entire building, built right on the jagged rock, where the voice of the river is heard in the background, a tireless companion of stays and weekends. The B&B La Voce del Fiume has an agreement with "typical cuisine" restaurants and can guarantee both half board and full board. Some recommended excursions in the surrounding area: 10 minutes away in the historic center of Satriano di Lucania "I murales": a very suggestive open-air art gallery where the walls of the houses tell the history, magic, legends, customs and traditions of the Satrianese people; 15 minutes away in the municipality of Santangelo Le Fratte "Cantine Aperte", a food and wine tour among the characteristic cellars carved directly into the rock of the mountain overlooking the town; 20 minutes away is the Charterhouse of Padula, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998. It is also the largest Charterhouse in Italy and among the first in Europe, where every weekend you can attend the traveling performance of "Dante's Purgatory"; 25 minutes away are the evocative Angel Caves of Pertosa, where through a fascinating and unusual boat trip you can reach a small landing from which you enter the bowels of the earth immersed in a magical silence to discover stalactites and stalagmites that are modeled from time to time in mysterious forms, to which fantasy has often assigned a name. The spectacle of Dante's Inferno is worth mentioning; 30 minutes away is the archaeological park of Grumento Nova, the main Roman site in the region, and Lake Pertusillo with its beautiful body of water surrounded by lush parks and dominated on the horizon by imposing mountains, is a corner of natural paradise to visit; 35 minutes away is the archaeological area of Rossano di Vaglio, a sacred area that features an extra-urban sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Mefitis, with a paved square and an altar; one of the most important testimonies of the language and cult of the Lucanians; 40 minutes away is Grancia, where one of the most renowned film festivals in Europe is held; and again 50 minutes away are the beautiful Lucanian Dolomites and the "Flight of the Angel"; the Federiciani Castles of Lagopesole and Melfi, the Volcanic Lakes of Monticchio; and finally, about an hour away, the Pollino Park, Matera with the "Sassi" UNESCO heritage, the Greek temples of Metaponto and the beautiful coast of Maratea, called "the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea".
