Fisherman's Cottage in the Heart of Elie.

This cottage is in the heart of the most beautiful seaside village in Scotland and is 2 minutes from the Beach, fabulous Elie Deli and Ship Inn. Fully restored in 2024 and filled with gorgeous vintage inspired furniture and soft furnishings. Everything you need to make your stay special. The cottage has a glass balcony. There is 1 shower room with sink and WC, a bath and sink in the master bedroom, and an under stairs loo with hand sink. Short Term Letting Licence Reference: FI-02259-F The space This 18th century cottage was restored and extended in 2024 with real attention to detail and much love. THE LIVING AREA The bright living room space overlooks the courtyard via full height glass wall which open out to an outside eating area with BBQ. The room is very well equipped with flat screen smart TV and Google Home speaker with complimentary Spotify. There is a gas fire for chillier nights, albeit the entire ground floor has underfloor heating so is beautifully warm. Lanterns, tea lights, and soft furnishings, complete the relaxed, comfortable feel. There is a newly and well appointed kitchen with wine fridge and Range Master gas cooker. The kitchen has everything you need including ample Denby crockery, platters, cutlery, cookbooks, and kitchen gadgets. There is a dishwasher, kettle and toaster and good sized fridge/freezer. Although the cottage is self catering, we always leave washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, salt, pepper and there’s always celery salt (impossible to get in Elie) in the cupboard for Bloody Marys ! THE COURTYARD The courtyard is a real sun trap and contains a charcoal BBQ and a table which accommodates 8 comfortably. There is an electric heater to help extend the Scottish evenings and you will find a little basket of throws in the dining area if people are still chilly. THE BALCONY The balcony is accessed via a glass staircase from the courtyard. There is a three seat sofa a bench, two armchairs, a coffee table. and 2 small side tables. Although the balcony has lighting, please feel free to take up lanterns from under the stairs to create a nice feel in the evening. Please note, the balcony is not suitable for unattended children. Please ensure that the furniture covers are on when the cottage is unattended - the Scottish weather is notoriously changeable! THE SHOWER ROOM The cottage contains a newly renovated shower room with sink and WC. We always leave luxury hand soap, hand lotion and fresh hand towels for use during your stay. Although we’re self catering, we leave a couple of extra toilet rolls, cotton wool pads and cotton buds. THE LAUNDRY AREA Right next to the shower room you’ll find the laundry area with washer/dryer, hoover and microwave. We always ensure there are some laundry tabs and the jar with scoop has some vanish in case you need it. THE LOO The cottage also benefits from the tiniest loo which has been tucked under the spiral staircase (it's handily right next to the ground floor bedroom). Again, you’ll find loo roll, hand soap and hand lotion in here for your use. THE HALL The hall leads to the ground floor bedroom (useful for those not keen on stairs) and a lovely spiral staircase leading up to a further 2 floors with 3 bedrooms as described below. BEDROOMS Bedroom 1: Ground floor bedroom is furnished with a king-size oak bedstead. The room is decorated in neutrals. The king size mattress is medium-firm and in perfect condition to ensure a very comfortable stay. All bedding is hypo-allergenic. Bedroom 2: On the first floor is a lovely dual aspect bedroom which is painted in Farrow & Ball 'All White' and contains a beautiful white French-style bedstead. A king-size firm mattress, luxurious white and hypo-allergenic bedding ensure a comfortable sleep. This bedroom benefits from a free standing bath and washstand and sink, with luxury hand soap and hand cream. There's also an 'honesty basket' with a few extras which you can use if you've forgotten essentials such as toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, plasters. Please can you replace anything you have used when you get the chance. Bedroom 3: This room is dual aspect and has a more modern 'New England' feel. It has a king sized cabin bed. This space is decorated in Farrow & Ball 'All White' with blue and duck egg accents. Bedroom 4: Known as 'The Crows Nest', this bedroom on the second floor contains a raised platform king sized bed. Without doubt, this is always the most popular room with children, teenagers and the young-at-heart. The bed is accessed by a step stool. There is also a second raised small single bed in this room - it's only suitable for children or young adults. All bedding is hypo-allergenic. Guest access Guests are able to use all rooms including the patio and balcony. Please note, the balcony is not suitable for young children to be left unsupervised. There is a small locked housekeepers cupboard in the first floor. Other things to note The ground floor of the cottage has underfloor heating throughout. It’s lovely and warm but if you need some extra heat then you can find the heating control panel in the living area on the wall next to the kitchen. Please set the thermostat to 14 degrees C on departure. If you need a wee bit of extra heat in the living area, there is a gas fire. The controls can be accessed by opening the glass door. The thermostat for the upper floors of the cottage can be found on the first landing. The second ‘bathroom’ facility is split between two rooms - there is a loo and sink on the ground floor and free standing bath with sink in the master bedroom. Elie has large community bins and recycling at the back of the village church near to the Deli. Please put all rubbish in black bags and take to the dump in Pittenweem upon departure.
