The space Appartamento "Il Tarì" is a lovely apartment of 40 square meters (approximately 445 square feet) which sleeps 2 persons, with a terrace of 20 square meters (245 square feet) with a wide panoramic view of Amalfi and of the sea. It is approximately 100 meters (110 yards) from the sea and the beach, and 50 meters (55 yards) from the Cathedral of Amalfi. There are one bedroom with a double bed, with ensuite bathroom with shower, a living-kitchen with sofa, dining table. The kitchen is equipped with four-burner cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer. The apartment is located on the topmost floor of an old building of medieval origin. The building is part of the ancient palaces that were inhabited by the Dukes of Amalfi in the eleventh century, when Amalfi was a powerful Sea Republic. You will reach it from the old square of Amalfi along a short pedestrian pathway, which includes 60 steps. The pathway will give you a first brief contact with the maze of narrow passageways and stairways that make up the incredible and spell-binding street structure of the historical core of Amalfi. To reach the apartment you will need to climb 60 more steps inside the building. Once you arrive to your apartment, you will find out that it was well worth climbing a few steps: you will be staying in a truly privileged place in the most ancient and central part of Amalfi. The dining room is little but well furnished. It has a lot of windows. Each window frames a piece of the charming panorama of Amalfi, as if it were a painting: the Cathedral, the small port and the sea, or the bunch of houses of the historical center, which clings to the rocky spur that surround it, or the terraces where lemons are grown. When you climb to the terrace that covers another apartment, you will have this same panorama in all around you for 360 degrees: you will be able to see the entire Amalfi, from the sea to the narrow and steep valley that holds the village. The view of the Cathedral of Amalfi and of its famous bell tower, with the sea on the background, is particularly suggestive. At sunset, you will be able to see the golden tesserae of the mosaic of its façade glare under the last rays of the sun that sets on the sea, while the shadow of the evening grow longer and longer from the surrounding mountains. You will reach the terrace from the entrance . There you will find sun lounges, tables and chairs and many pots full of flowers. From Appartamento Il Tarì you will be able to walk in five minutes to the square of the Cathedral of Amalfi, which is the "sitting room" of the village. Here there are elegant shops and excellent cafes, pastry shops and restaurants that setup their tables outdoor. You will find it very pleasant to stop here to enjoy a cappuccino, an Italian ice cream or a "delizia al limone" (a "lemon delight", the traditional cake of the Amalfi Coast), in front of the splendid and imposing façade of the Cathedral. If you walk for 50 more meters (55 yards) you will find the large Flavio Gioia square, with its promenade along the sea, the access to the beaches, and the bus station for the buses that connect all the villages along the coast, including Ravello and Positano, as well as Pompeii and Paestum. Here there is also the quay, where you will be able to board ferries or rent boats to visit the coast from the sea and reach Positano, Capri, Sorrento, Ischia, Naples, Salerno and other spots. To stay at Appartamento Il Tarì you will not need a car. Public transportation is comfortable, cheap and efficient. If you have a car, you will be able to reserve a parking spot, to be paid locally.
