Half Moon Cottage

Our house is about two hundred years old, in Garafia, island of La Palma, which has been restored trying to keep its structure, providing it with today's comforts. It is in a rural area close to an small village with supermarkets and gas station. The space It is in the hill's township (800 m. above sea level), and two hundred meters apart from the nearest houses. One kilometre away from Llano Negro village, which has a supermarket, public telephone, Red Cross post, DIY store and bus station. It is three kilometres from the only petrol station in the area. Next to the latter, there are several restaurants and a cooperative shop that sells typical food products. The road connecting to the Roque de los Muchachos is five kilometres away and its astronomical observatory facility is one of the three best places in the world (along with Hawaii and Chile) for star observation. The house is reachable by car, and it is equipped with an automatic light sensor. It has two floors: on the top there is an open kitchen (fully equipped), with a sofa bed (only suitable for a children) and TV. On the ground floor there is a master bedroom with double bed and bathroom, there is also a washing machine. Both stories are connected internally and externally. Moreover, there is also an attached room, with a double bed, wardrobe and a full bathroom. This room is available with an extra charge of 20 euros/night. It has a porch and flagstone floor terrace, a roof-covered area, with a barbecue area where beautiful views can be enjoyed, combining both the sea and the mountains. It is spoilt with a special microclimate, which makes it more welcoming than other locations at the same altitude. Like the rest of the island, the area has many rural hiking paths amongst lush landscapes.
