A 1950's RUSTIC cabin in the woods. The Bears Den is VERY simple and basic cabin in the forest - think glamping . Number of guests limited to two adults. 2 bedrooms, one bath, efficiency kitchen and sitting area. Screen porch overlooking forest. Guests invited to hike our miles of private trails throughout our 1000 acre Wilderness Preserve. Children discouraged due to dangerous terrain and frequent encounters with bear, coyote and bobcat. NO tv NO pets The space The Bear's Den is a BASIC, RUSTIC log cabin built in the early 1950's that sits in a Wilderness comprising 1000 acres including six miles of River front. The Bear's Den has been completely rewired, (for safety) and the little bathroom has been updated -- but it is very simple and basic. The "master" bedroom has a DOUBLE bed, and the twin bedroom twins are very close together. The bathroom has a small shower stall . The rooms are SMALL. Four wheel drive recommended. Cabin has board games and books. NO tv. NO pets. 2 people MAX. Not suitable for children Guest access Guests in cabins can use the large stone fire-pit located near the Lodge. Guests are invited to hike our extensive trail system - many trails wind along the beautiful River and end up at River “beaches .” Guests can wade, swim or fish in the sparkling, refreshing, clean, clear water of the Dan River. Other things to note Master Bedroom has a DOUBLE bed, the other bedroom has twin beds. Our wells are 400-600 feet deep thus water is good. No need to haul in cartons of plastic water. Four wheel drive recommended. Be aware - This is a Tiny Rustic Cabin. In the Woods. NO PETS NO tv. Board games and books in cabin
