Description

The Maple is set within the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nestled within a quiet coombe off the beaten track in the peaceful village of Harrowbarrow, it will act as the perfect base for you to enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. Set off on foot to enjoy gorgeous walks in the rolling countryside or around National Trust property, take a short car ride to cross dramatic moorland, or go a little further to find yourself on a golden, sandy beach. The space ***PLEASE NOTE*** - The Maple will no longer be letting as of November 1st. Therefore we have decided to drop the prices, so if you're thinking about a stay, now is the time to make a saving, especially for October half term! Whilst our home sleeps up to ten adults, if you're a smaller group looking to book, we do offer discounts for lower occupancy. Please send us an enquiry to discuss! HOUSE INFO: A quaint miner’s cottage once sat here, but we’ve built our modern eco-home in its place, with our own two hands! You’ll experience upside down living, stepping in the front door to a hallway which leads you into the open plan living space with kitchen/diner and lounge, which has wood floors, vaulted ceiling, woodburner and lots of natural light. We love to bring the outside in by opening up the bifold doors, which lead you onto the large balcony with outdoor lighting, a dining table/seating and views of a traditional mining chimney. This space is a real secluded sun-trap where you can sit surrounded by greenery and birdsong. We do accept one, well-behaved dog which must be kept upstairs throughout your break. Please let us know you plan to bring your furry friend, when you submit your booking request. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything your family or group should need for a comfortable stay: double ovens, dishwasher, microwave, instant hot water tap, fridge freezer with ice machine and filter water, wine fridge, five ring induction hob, toaster, coffee machine, and of course cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils. We built our oak dining table with gatherings in mind - it’s a great place to dine. We can also recommend local places for delicious produce before you arrive! You can cosy up together on the large u-shaped sofa, to play games or settle down with a film (use of our Netflix, Now TV, Amazon Prime is welcome to you). Also on the first floor you’ll find a laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus an upstairs shower room with double sink, heated towel rail and electric shower (great for washing off sandy toes after a beach day). Bedroom one is on this level too, it has a double sofa bed. The oak staircase takes you to the lower level which is where the four bedrooms are found. Bedroom two: king sized bed, french doors to the garden Bedroom three: two single beds (trundle bed) and blackout blind useful for groups with children. We can put a TV/playstation in this room if you’d like Bedroom four: king sized bed, and french doors Bedroom five: superking bed, dressing room, ensuite with rainfall shower and heated towel rail, french doors, flatscreen TV There’s also a family bathroom on this floor with a freestanding stone bath and shower. Other things to note about the house are that there is underfloor heating throughout, and about an acre of private gardens. You’ll have fast and free Wifi, bedding and towels, and we’ve also made a handy house manual with local recommendations and FAQs. The whole house and grounds will be exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. We’re situated down a bit of a windy lane, but we will be on hand to guide you if needed! There’s a private entrance onto a drive, with plenty of private parking. We are building a garage within the grounds which is partly completed.
