Some interesting facts about Wallis Island: it is home of a multimillion dollar French inspired mansion (Chateau Le Marais), as well as a privately own airport. If you are looking for dining options without getting to Forster, you can check out Pacific Palms Recreation Club (http://www.pprc.com.au, beautiful sunsets), or Frothy Cafe at lake's edge in Smith Lakes, or Pacific Palms Bowling Club (https://www.pacificpalmsbowlingclub.com.au). For groceries, the nearest supermarket is Foodworks at Charlotte's Bay which is 22min from the house. The local general store in Coomba Park opens 9:30am-5pm Monday to Saturday, and 9:30am-12pm on Sunday, selling basic things and fuel. There is also a market at Pacific Palms (25 mins away) held on the last Sunday of each month (http://www.palmsmarket.com.au). Finally, if you know the Leyland brothers from the 70's and 80's Travel TV show "Ask the Leyland Brothers", you may find it interesting to know that the house was built by Malcolm Leyland. The brothers travelled all over Australia to film for their popular TV show and Mal has chosen this very spot to build his house - come and see why! Guest access Guests have access to the whole house and vast front and back yards, except the garage and 2 linen cupboards where we keep supplies for guests . Across the road is direct access to Wallis Lake where you can go fishing, swiming, kayaking, paddle boarding or boating. Other things to note The property runs on rainwater only (so is the whole Coomba Park district) so please be mindful with water usage, like turning taps off while brushing teeth and take short showers. Please turn off spa and keep lid on after using it to keep leaves out and the heat in ready for your next use. When windy, or going out, please retract sun shade on the balcony.
