‘Tombreck’ cosy private beach front bungalow 3 bed

'Tombreck' is our spacious beach fronted detached three bedroom family holiday bungalow facing the sea, with magnificent uninterrupted sea views. The large patio doors open onto an enclosed shingle garden with a gate straight onto the private beach with sand at low tide that allows for long evening walks, sandcastle building and of course swimming, fishing and boating. 'Tombreck' is in a quiet safe seaside location that is ideal for all families especially ones with young children. The space 'Tombreck' is a three bedroom bungalow built on the beach at Pevensey Bay. The bungalow has a large lounge diner with magnificent sea views. It is our holiday home and is decorated in a basic style with an eclectic mix of old and new furniture. There are a few books and games which you are very welcome to use. There are three bedrooms: Accommodation for 5/6 persons - The Bridge room has a large king size bed and sea views (2) - The Crew room has two single beds with a window looking over the front garden (2) - The Cabin has one single bed (1) - Folding z-bed in lounge (1) The bathroom has a toilet, sink, bath and shower. There is a fitted kitchen with a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, and a Nespresso coffee machine and frother (coffee pods need to be bought by visiting guests). The bungalow is centrally heated. Leading from the patio doors in the lounge there is a raised patio, a small enclosed garden and then the beach. Outdoor cooking: There is an electric ‘George Forman’ grill that is stored in the kitchen. This can be set up on the grill table outdoors using the extension lead for alfresco cooking and dining. Please clean and return to the kitchen after use. Pets: We do allow guests to bring pets for a small additional cost as the beach is such a lovely place for dogs. We would ask that they are kept off the furniture, that they are not left alone in the property and that the garden is cleaned up before our guests leave. Bedding and cleaning: We do supply toilet paper, soap and bedding. We do not supply duvet covers, pillow cases, sheets or towels as many of our guests prefer to bring their own. To sleep 6, guests are asked to bring: 1 king sized sheet (160cm wide), duvet cover and 4 pillow cases 4 single sheets and duvet covers and 8 pillow cases The bungalow will be professionally cleaned and disinfected in-between each letting. Guest access There is ample parking off road for three cars. The bungalow is accessed through the front garden up some gradual steps to a small patio area then about six steps up to the porch door. Unfortunately access for wheelchair users may be difficult. Other things to note Pevensey bay is steeped in history from 1066 and the landing by William of Normandy to 1944 and the preparation for the D Day landings. There are many historic sites to visit in the area. - Pevensey Castle - Battle (1066 the location) - Hastings Castle - Pevensey gaol - Dungeness - Camber Sands - Beachy Head and Lighthouse - Eastbourne and the Pier - Norman’s Bay (location of ITV mini series ‘Flesh and Blood’ ) During WW2 my father and mother were in the RAF and were posted to Eastbourne. My father worked at the intercept station at Beachy Head. In early 1944 they met under the clock tower at Eastbourne Railway Station and romance blossomed, they married in 1947. The area has great significance for our family. They bought Tombreck in 1984 as a holiday home for the family. Many of the pictures in the bungalow reflect their history. A copy of my father's war diary ‘Last Letters from Tombreck’ which we published in 2018, is available for our visitors to browse through.
