Dunmara: Self Catering Cottage on the Isle of Skye

Dunmara is our own personal mountain retreat which we have established to use as a holiday home in the Scottish Highlands. It is cosy, warm and relaxing in a beautiful location, and has been decorated and set up with this in mind. The cottage was built in the 1970s and has been adapted to make it a practical base for walking, hiking, sightseeing and generally enjoying all the Isle has to offer. What it is not, is a purpose built modern soulless rental property – it is our home in the Highlands. The space The kitchen is fully equipped with a modern electric hob and oven, a microwave, slow cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and all the necessary utensils for a fully functioning kitchen. Off the kitchen there is a laundry room which contains a washing machine, a tumble dryer and ironing board and steam iron. The Dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and has lovely views over the garden to the island of Scalpay. Off the rear entrance hall there is a drying room fitted with rails & hangers and shelves to dry off wet clothes and boots if the weather has been a little unkind. The room is heated by a central heating radiator and an oil filled electric radiator if needed. There is a warm comfortable family bathroom including a bath, sink and cubicle electric shower. The lounge is a spacious well furnished room in which to relax and unwind after an enjoyable day on the island. There are fabulous views from the window from which various forms of wildlife can be viewed. The room is equipped with a TV, DVD player, various books (including local reference and fiction/novels), a selection of games and a multi fuel fire. There are four good sized bedrooms, two with double beds and en-suite bathrooms and two with twin beds. The cottage sleeps 8 people and has a cot for an infant. The house is fully centrally heated and gas and electricity is included in the cost. All linen and towels are also provided. Outside there is a patio area with seating and a BBQ if you fancy eating outside and admiring the views. The gated driveway will hold two cars comfortably and there is additional parking space just outside the gates.
