Villa Majorana is located in the historic center, near the Stesicoro metro station, a stone's throw from the Vincenzo Bellini public garden, the city's main museums and nightlife venues. You will love the beauty of the building, the high ceilings, the strategic location, the spacious kitchen, the brightness, and the welcoming family atmosphere. The room, being spacious and cozy, is suitable for couples, solo travelers, business travelers, and students traveling around the world. The space The room is located in an apartment that occupies the entire mezzanine floor of a Liberty-style villa, located in the center of the city and surrounded by a garden that isolates it from the noise of traffic. In the room you will find, in addition to a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, an armchair, two tables on which you can work or relax, and a single bed on a mezzanine. Leaning against the left wall, you will also find a sofa where you can relax and which, in the event that you encounter difficulties in using the loft, can be used as a single bed. The house as a whole, in which I live with my parents, is very airy: it has very high ceilings, period furnishings and consists of many large and bright rooms, which guarantee, to those who live there, both numerous common spaces and intimacy and relaxation. The entire building, built in 1913 by our family (which, among others, also gave birth to Ettore Majorana, the illustrious physicist who mysteriously disappeared in 1938), is reported by the Touring Club guide of Sicily and placed under the protection of the Superintendence of Fine Arts as a monument of artistic and historical interest. Guest access In addition to the private room, you will have access to the common areas of the house, namely: the large and bright kitchen, where you can have breakfast and, by agreeing on the time, also cook lunches or dinners (even in company); the two living rooms, one next to the kitchen (with a computer, television and a turntable with a small collection of vinyls) and one adjacent to the guest room; and of course the bathroom, shared with the other inhabitants of the house. In spring and summer, you can also take advantage of a small cool and shaded corner in the inner courtyard, equipped with chairs and tables, surrounded by plants and a large century-old tree. In addition, if you want, you can use the courtyard of the house to park the car, paying a small surcharge (€4 per day; €25 per week) During your stay We will be happy to give you any kind of information about the city, places of interest and the various cultural activities going on (from concerts to exhibitions and shows), as well as places where you can eat and drink with the best quality and convenience. Other things to note A welcoming and informal atmosphere will greet you in the apartment, which will try to make you feel as much as possible "at home" and to make you enjoy your stay in Catania. You will find in addition to the essentials (towels, sheets, etc.), the Wi-Fi connection and a multitude of books on literature, art, photography, guides about Catania and surroundings, which you can freely browse and consult at all times.
