Description

A 5 minute walk to the Kotel (Western Wall) in the heart of the Jewish Quarter of the Old City An 800 year old apartment with character, charm, and comfort. Enjoy the living room or relax with a glass of wine on the patio at the end of the day. If you are Shomer Shabbat, I can help you get kosher food, etcc. The space Please keep in mind there is only one bathroom, so it is not possible to stay here if you are required to be in isolation for any amount of time upon your arrival. I have had two vaccines and I request my guests either had the vaccines or have the antibodies. The apartment is located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, this stunning 800 year old ottoman empire apartment awaits your visit. Minutes away from the Kotel, the Horva Shul and historic Old City sites, you will stay in a private room, with a shared bath and use of the porch, and living room. You have a mini-fridge in your room and a microwave, toaster oven and hot plate. I usually provide snacks and a bottle of wine for you to enjoy not eh porch after a busy day of sightseeing. There is also a wonderful French pastry shop around the corner. I send you a request list of snacks you would like for your arrival. There are clean bathrobes and slippers in the room, so you can pack lighter. I also have shampoo and soaps, hair dryer and iron in your room. The Old City was built centuries ago and it is packed with people all of the time. The bedroom room is usually quiet especially for the Old City most of the time, but not 100% of the time. There are children that come and go in the yard next door on occasion. I am happy to do a load of wash for you to help you pack lighter. The room is small and has two beds. But there is a lovely living room to relax, check internet, eat, etc.. There is sometimes wireless internet access in your bedroom and always in the living room and porch. There are many bakeries, shops, museums and archeological sites within one block of my apartment. This is a wonderful home base after a day of incredible sight seeing. My neighborhood has a few buses that will get you into town on a pretty regular basis and is a 20 minute walk from the train. Cabs are also always easy to catch. There is no available kitchen. You have a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room along with plenty of paper goods. There is also a microwave and toaster oven for your use. There is an air conditioner/heater that works very well in the bedroom, as well as one in the living room and a heater in the bathroom. Three night minimum stay. If you are Shomer Shabbos, I can recommend caterers for you to get meals and I have a plata for you to warm up. Guest access The living room, dining room, and porch are yours to enjoy any time day or night. Other things to note Forget about parking a car in the Old City. The hoops you would have to jump through to get a car in here and parked are a bear. When the Old City was built 3200 years ago, they didn't have the imagination to foresee parking issues. Taking the shared taxi (sheroot) from the airport can be a bit of a hassle because they will not come all the way into the Jewish Quarter. I recommend you either have them drop you off at the Jerusalem Garden hotel at the entrance to Jerusalem and grab a cab to the Jewish Quarter or take a taxi from the airport. I can give you the number of a cab driver that is much less expensive then the airport cabs.
