Vihang Farmstay

Vihang Farmhouse is airy, bright, and simplistic with a wonderful view of the backwaters and grasslands of Gangapur Dam, an Important Bird Area! We are located a 20 minute drive away from Sula, York, and Soma vineyards and wineries which are on the opposite bank of Gangapur Dam. We have three bedrooms: The Florican Room, Owlet Room & the Quail Room. We also provide breakfast. We provide discounts for long-term stays (4 nights and above). However, we don’t take bookings outside of Airbnb. The space Vihang Farmhouse is a standalone bungalow on a private farm with teak and mango trees. It is also the headquarters of the Nature Conservation Society of Nashik, a wildife conservation NGO active in Nashik District since 1994. You can avail of lunch or dinner or both at an additional charge of Rs. 400 per person per meal. We have veg and non veg options available. Please notify us in advance if you’d like to opt in for this service. And finally, what do Florican and Owlet mean anyway? Our bedrooms are named after two Critically Endangered Bird Species: The Lesser Florican and the Forest Owlet. My NGO, NCSN spearheaded conservation efforts for the Lesser Florican and Great Indian Bustard for a decade in the 90s and early 2000s at Ozhar, Nashik, and is currently engaged in conservation efforts for the Forest Owlet at Harsul Ghat and Trimbakeshwar. We have 3 dogs at the premises who aren’t allowed inside the house but roam around freely in the front and backyards. Guest access Guests are welcome to join the NCSN on activities such as Birdwatching and Hiking (at an additional charge that can be availed of at the premises) and learn about nature and the need to preserve it.
