Description

This vintage horse box has been lovingly converted and is at the end of three paddocks next to a lake. You park your car next to the house and walk through the fields with the extremely friendly sheep and haughty Alpacas. We can provide a cart or wheelbarrow for heavy items. There is a veranda, wood burning stove, oven, Belfast sink, a shower cubicle with a chemical loo and a king sized bed. There is ample storage and seating. The space Three other self catering accommodations are available: a heated converted horse box, a heated Shepherd’s hut and a modern dwelling in a cottage garden. There are a total of four self catering accommodations at Yr Hen Felin, but you are at the end of three paddocks, it is very private. There is a large outdoor table, a barbecue with oven space, a large fire pit with surrounding logs and a small lake. The table on the veranda can be brought inside if it is raining. There are 4 hot tubs in all and one is allocated near the house for your personal use The horse box is supplied with mains water and has an LPG gas cylinder which supplies the cooker, fridge and a very efficient water heater. A battery powers the downlighters. There is a wood burning stove. Please bring a BATTERY PHONE CHARGER which you can recharge at the outside sockets by the house when you are using the hot tub, the barbecue or playing badminton. The area is very peaceful. Next to the horse box there is a pontoon over the lake, a fire pit with surrounding logs to sit on and steps down the river and finally a very impressive 12 ft table made out of an ash tree from the field. (wood is supplied for the wood burning stove and for the fire pit). There is also a badminton net, rackets and shuttle cocks and a boule set. You are welcome to use the 2 acre garden around the house. There are multiple patios and seating areas- enough space to lose yourself in and we find that guests often do not meet each other. You are welcome to use your own allocated private hot tub. Please keep noise to a minimum after 11pm. The hot tubs are kept spotlessly clean and chemicals added and checked daily, but it is at your own risk. We ask you to shower before you use the hot tubs with the eco soaps provided. You have your own charcoal barbecue, but you are welcome to use the barbecues on the patio next to the house (one gas, one charcoal), but we ask you to clean them after use. The walk to the main house and gardens is through three paddocks with very friendly sheep and aristocratic alpacas. The field does get muddy and of course there is sheep poo, so please bring adequate footwear and torches to find your way back after an evening out or after using the hot tubs under the fairy lights. There are battery operated lanterns in the horsebox to light the way to the fire pit or to the hot tubs at night. Towels, dressing gowns, eco body soap, eco shampoo, eco conditioner and eco toilet rolls are provided. Salt, pepper, sugar, paper towels, tea, coffee, vinegar and sunflower oil are also provided, as well as crockery, cutlery, a corkscrew, a tin opener, glasses, mugs, cafetières, pans and a kettle. There is relatively little we can do as individuals to save the planet. Amongst other things, we can holiday in the UK and avoid planes and we can also recycle. Please put all waste food in the food recycling bins and rinse containers for the recycling bin. There is a £20 discount for your next booking if recycling is carried out properly (: Guest access Guests are free to roam the garden and the extensive grounds. Two patios and the secret garden are reserved for other guests, but there is a communal patio with a large table and chairs and two barbecues, one gas and one charcoal. Please clean the barbecues after use.
