Come experience this unique cabin, built entirely of natural and recycled materials. Ideal for a Himalayan retreat experience or trekking to Sandakphu, the house is located directly below Samten monastery Rimbick, in the district of Darjeeling, state of West Bengal The monastery is a hundred years old institution, which was established in 1917. It is now a place where the villagers gather for prayer and to perform the various rites as per Bddhist traditions The space The eco-house is a cosy 7 x 4 meter wood & brick cabin, ideal for one or two people, with separate kitchen and living area, loft area and separate modern bathroom with hot and cold running water. Guest access The cabin is located 2 minutes walk from the monastery. Access to the cabin is made possible by a short forest path and is nestled next to a giant prayer inscripted rock wall Other things to note The house is the propriety of Samten Monastery. The rental income is fully allocated to maintain the monastery and support educational and / or ecological projects Indian authorities require foreign guests to register at the Foreign Office in Rimbik (close to the Jeep counter when you arrive). It only takes a few minutes. You can register straight away when you arrive, or the day after you arrive. Breakfast is available at extra cost.
