Don't miss a visit to Azenhas do Mar, a small village perched on the cliffs above the sea. It is very interesting to visit the Adega Regional de Colares, in Colares and the Adega do Casal de Sta Maria, in Casas Novas, where you can taste and buy the regional wines of Colares. Colares has been a Controlled Denomination of Origin since 1908, the westernmost region of Continental Europe and the smallest wine-producing region in the country. These wines are produced under very special microclimate conditions, on a sandy floor, even today according to traditional techniques and from indigenous grape varieties (80% of "Ramisco" grapes) About 25 min. by car you can visit the village of Cascais, the Guia Lighthouse, Boca do Inferno and Guincho beach with its dunes. In the Colares region, I recommend the following restaurants: "Toca do Júlio", "Neptuno", "Búzio", "Bar do Fundo", "Adraga", "Nortada" and "Água e Sal". In Aldeia da Praia, Praia das Maçãs, you can find Italian pizzas at "Pizzaria Souldough", craft beer, Sushi and wine by the glass. The bar "O Moinho" in Azóia is a place to enjoy the wonderful view over the entire coast and watch the sunset in the late afternoon.
