Welcome to our beautiful Villa Plaka, the house on the rocks! With fantastic panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and its offshore islands near the small mountain village of Afionas on the island of Corfu! The space General info This is one of a total of two bookable apartments in our house. The garden apartment presented here is the smaller of the two at 70 square meters and sleeps a maximum of three people. A maximum of five people can stay in the upper apartment. Depending on the available data, it is of course possible to reserve both apartments if you need sleeping accommodations for up to eight people. However, the two reservations must be made separately. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. In addition to the living space, the garden apartment also has direct access to the garden and a 25 square meter natural stone paved veranda. In addition, you can also use the 3500 sqm property. This is very diverse due to its sloping location: at the level of the house there are lush gardens and beautiful plants and a wide view over the sea – while there is direct access to the sea below. It's rocky and a little rough here. On a small platform right by the sea, you can experience this completely different charm. In good weather, experienced and confident swimmers can climb directly into the sea here. And afterwards you can rinse off under the outdoor shower. The accommodation: the garden apartment The charming apartment has everything you need for a nice and tasteful vacation. It looks very spacious because it is open and bright. The bedroom with a large comfortable double bed is separated from the rest of the apartment with curtains. In addition, there is a sofa that can also be transformed into a bed. The sleeping area is equipped with air conditioning and a mosquito net. In addition, all windows and doors also have fly screens – so you can provide some (mosquito-free) ventilation The U-shaped kitchen has a beautiful worktop made of local olive wood and a gas stove, oven and dishwasher. With a view of the garden and the sea, you can cook wonderfully here. When you step outside, you get to the veranda. Here you will find sun loungers, a dining table and a cozy seating area. The garden is lush – you have a view of all kinds of plants: from pomegranate, to eucalyptus and olive trees. With its western orientation, the veranda also offers a fantastic view of the sea. Here you can marvel at wonderful sunsets every evening. Other things to note The Corfiotian roads are usually quite well developed - nevertheless we recommend a 4-wheel drive... - especially for the last part of the access to our property. This part is not paved and can be difficult to drive on, especially after prolonged periods of rain. However, this has never been a major problem for guests with an SUV. (We ourselves do not drive an SUV, but would always recommend it to guests, as the foreign road conditions with potholes and gravel can be a bit irritating). Once you arrive, you will of course find your own parking spaces in front of the entrance door. Also interesting: Villa Plaka is both sustainable and independent: hot water and electricity are produced on its own roof by the sun. There are no additional cleaning fees: these are already included in the price. However, as of January 1, 2024, we as landlords must pay a sustainability tax of 10 euros per night per apartment (NOT per person) to the Greek state. The tax serves to preserve the environment worth visiting and to protect nature. These fees depend on the length of your stay and must be paid by you in cash on site. In summary, it can be said that almost every comfort is provided here, from all rooms you have a great unobstructed view of the sea and you can look forward to a fantastic sundowner atmosphere!
