2. Wonderful newly furnished private room
A modern private room in Laugardalur district in east-center of Reykjavik. Neighborhood has lots of services around like 24/7 store in 100 m distance, restaurants, a very nice bakery and more. Lot of beautiful walking options nearby. 50 meters to Laugardalur park with zoo, botanical garden, swimming pool e.t.c. and 1 minutes walk to bus. Bus takes you to the city center in 9 minutes (walking distance from our home to beginning of Laugavegur, main shopping street is 3 km). The bedroom has a queen size bed, couch included, darkening curtains on the window, clothes rack, a small work desk with a chair and a mirror, we offer coffee and tea for free and sometimes we have cookies also. We offer a small emergency kit like dental kit, shaving kit etc. for a small price :D The bathroom and the Kitchen is shared, you can cook everything you want in the kitchen. We have all kitchen essentials you need there. We recycle the trash and after you've finished cooking you have to clean after yourself, respect and courtesy to other guests I am easily accessible and will assist you in making your trip a one to remember. Lagardalur also host´s the World clas biggest fitness and spa center in Reykjavík. The Family Park and Zoo in Laugardalur is open all year. The Zoo includes most Icelandic animals, both wild and domesticated, from foxes, reindeer and seals to cattle, horses and sheep. In summer the Family Park offers many rides and play equipment for children of all ages. Outside the summer season, the Family Park remains open as a play area. At the edge of the Laugardalur valley, not far from Laugardalur Arena, is a strangely shaped, domed white building. It is known as the Reykjavík Art Museum’s Ásmundarsafn sculpture collection. This used to be the studio of Ásmundur Sveinsson (1893-1982), a pioneer of Icelandic sculpture. In addition to his works exhibited inside the museum, a sculpture garden outside contains many of his monumental works. Reykjavík’s main sports stadium is also located in Laugardalur valley and mostly used for football (soccer) matches in the summertime. Close to the stadium is the Laugardalsholl arena, a multipurpose indoor venue built in 1965. In addition to large pop and rock concerts, trade shows, exhibitions and the 1995 World Championship of Handball, the Laugardalsholl hosted the famous 1972 World Chess Championships, where American Bobby Fischer defeated Russian Boris Spassky. Laugardalur also boasts a beautiful botanical garden featuring an impressive selection of Arctic flowers and plants. Beneath the branches of a leafy grove in the gardens, you'll find the lovely Café Flora. 1 minutes walk to bus stop. Bus takes you to the city center in 9 minutes. Flight bus stops in front of the house. For tours you can be picked up at the hotel across the street.
