Refurbished 2-bedroom stone cottage with some original features, set in it’s own grounds at La Charpenterie, with parking, private pool and patio. Local historic towns of St Loup sur Thouet, Airvault and Parthenay have lots to see, or wander the lanes of the Gâtine valley and enjoy rural France. Two modern shower rooms (one en-suite), open plan living downstairs with kitchen, dining and log burner in the sitting room area, the cottage offers all the amenities you'll need for a superb holiday - for couples, children or an extended family. With a private west-facing patio with its own plunge pool you can enjoy the best of the beautiful Gatine valley at any time of year. The kitchen is equipped with washing machine and dishwasher, oven, microwave and all the usual amenities. If you're missing anything, we're on hand in the main house, so please ask Touring, walking or cycling, the Gatine valley is full of history, beautiful countryside and French life. Sample the wines and enjoy restaurants, from good french cuisine to 15th Century feasting. Enough of that? Then why not experience a multimedia extravaganza at Futuroscope or take in a chariot race at Puy de Fou. Something for everyone Guest access You will have sole use of the whole cottage and its patio areas with views across the fields and amazing sunsets. You can be completely independent but don't forget to ask if there's anything we can help you with. Other things to note Keep the log stove ticking over to ensure the gite is cozy in the depth of Winter (and we'll light it before you arrive if it's chilly). If you're not very familiar with log stoves, let us give you some tips when you arrive. More heaters are available if you need them. We include all the towels and bed linen in the price, so there are no hidden extras The rear opens onto a patio area where you can sip your early morning coffee as you plan your day or spend the evening stargazing over a glass of wine. ­ The night skies are wonderfully dark here and if walking’s your thing, head out of La Charpenterie onto miles of country lanes passing fields of sunflowers. The dishwasher and washing machine are available in your kitchen - please ensure both are empty on your departure. You may want to bring additional washing tabs with you.
