Ulverstone Beach House

This spacious , newly-renovated , very sunny holiday home fronts directly onto a beautiful beach and is a perfect base to explore northern Tasmania . By day you will visit Cradle Mountain or Table Cape or Stanley , returning home for a walk or a swim on your own beach. Or you might walk or cycle along the coastal pathways , perhaps visiting nearby Penguin or Ulverstone's pretty riverside streets . You will go to sleep listening to the waves and the fairy penguins . Heaven ! The space Ulverstone Beach House has been our family holiday home for 60 years - three generations cherish wonderful memories of cycling , swimming , beachwalks, water-skiing , building sandcastles and exploring the hinterland with its rich rolling farmland , its waterfalls , canyons and caves , its iconic landscapes including Cradle Mountain , the Nut at Stanley , dramatic Table Cape , stunning Boat Harbour , and attractions like nearby Penguin village and the Don Railway . The coast rail-line runs next to the house and the slow passing train is a big attraction for children. The beach is safe and expansive , book-ended at one end by an exciting ( for children!) rocky peninsula which becomes an island at high tide and at the other end by the breakwater at the entrance to Ulverstone's Leven River where you can try your luck with the fishing folk. The house is in a natural setting amongst gum trees and coastal vegetation in which live dozens of fairy penguins who come up the beach out of the sea each evening . The walk from the front door to the beach is about 100 metres . In summer you can swim early then eat breakfast in the sunshine on the deck. The house itself features a large sunny living/kitchen area with heatpump and a dining table for 8 , two queen bedrooms with French doors opening on to the spacious deck , a third bedroom with a double bed and bunks , two immaculate modern bathrooms , a second toilet , and a laundry Guest access Maintaining the natural environment around the house is important to us so we would appreciate it if you parked in the designated area and kept cars off the grass in front of the house . Other things to note A feature for children is that the train line runs next to the house. Trains are slow enough for children to make eye contact with the driver and count the carriages .
