The space Welcome to our classic 1970s cedar cabin on stilts, with a recently updated modern-rustic interior. Timber Stilts has all the perks of both a hotel and a home for a relaxed, elevated experience. Chill out at the cabin with a hot tub, wrap-around scenic deck, fully stocked kitchen, midcentury fireplace, outdoor fire pit, or venture out to nearby lakes, rivers, trails, and beauty of the Cascade Mountains. Leave time to stop by for food, shops, and music in the charming, historic town of Roslyn, just 10 minutes away, or Suncadia Resort and Cle Elum, 15 minutes away. Access miles of trails from the front door on a dirt bike, quad, or snowmobile. We'll send a guide to the area with our favorite spots before check-in. 6 people max, including kids. Two bedrooms have a queen bed in each, and a folding twin bed on wheels in each closet. Twin beds can be set up one in each bedroom, or rolled out to the living room together. The home can accommodate 6 guests, but is ideal for up to 4 adults plus kids, since there are only two bedrooms and one bathroom. You're welcome to bring 6 adults if you are close and think you will be comfortable (it's a popular spot for a girls weekend)! The kitchen and main living area are pretty spacious and there is seating for 6 around the dining table, fire pit, and in the hot tub. We are family friendly with a pack and play, black out shades, high chair, sounds machines, and plenty of kids' items. This is our beloved family cabin, not just a rental, so you can expect lots of things to cook with in the kitchen, plenty of games, puzzles, books, toys, and commonly-forgotten-items to make your stay comfortable. Guest access As a guest, you have full and private access to the cabin, hot tub, and outdoor space with key-code entry so you can arrive at your convenience. Winter turns cabin access into a bit of an adventure. Once there is enough snow (roughly mid Dec-Mar), the neighborhood roads are closed to cars and all visitors must hike or ride in on a snowmobile or vehicle with tracks. You can choose to hike half a mile from the parking lot or arrange for a ride with our heated neighborhood taxi. If hiking, we recommend bringing a big backpack and sled to bring your stuff up. The roads are groomed, so no need for snowshoes. You can also rent snowmobiles from The Last Resort, 5 minutes away, and even get them delivered to your parking spot. Getting there is part of the adventure! And makes the reward that much sweeter. The cabin has a long private driveway with plenty of parking when not snowed in. Please note there's a sharp and steep turn into the gravel driveway, so an AWD vehicle is recommended and a trailer would not make it up. Other things to note KIDS SAFETY— Kids should be supervised at all times. The cabin has a very high wrap around deck and tall staircase that can be dangerous, and with three doors that lead outside, lots of escape routes for littles. The interior is not exactly kid proof either (though we do have small kids of our own and the cabin is stocked with kids toys, games, and eating tools). Feel free to move heavy and fragile items out of kids’ reach. WILDLIFE — We are in a remote mountain area. Be mindful of animals when outside (and while driving). There have been deer, bears, and cougars in the neighborhood. Don’t leave food outside and please secure trash can lids. FIRES — Every summer there is a strict burn ban in the area, usually June through September. No fires or open flames, including candles. The gas BBQ grill and indoor fireplace is okay to use during a burn ban. WOOD — We provide a bundle of wood for you to use in the fireplace and there's wood outside for the fire pit. If you love to keep a fire going all day, please bring some of your own wood or message us about buying more. We work hard to keep chopped wood stocked for our guests. WINTER SAFETY — In the wintertime, watch out for slippery areas and falling icicles on the deck. If coming from the Seattle area, check the WSDOT Snoqualmie Pass road conditions report to check for road closures and chain requirements on vehicles. SECURITY — The front door entry area outside has a camera for your safety and ours. The door has a key code for easy access. NOISE — We are in a community with neighbors who live here full time... thanks for being respectful and keeping it quiet after 10pm. MISC — No pets. No smoking. No events. Private elopements are welcome. Feel free to message if we missed anything!
