The space The 1826 House has been thoughtfully restored, styled and modernised throughout but with some original vintage character you'd hope to find in a Georgian cottage. It's a compact, well arranged home that makes the most of every inch of its space. The garden is a genuine rarity for a City Centre Canterbury property. A private outdoor space where you can sit with a morning coffee or relax at the end of a busy day. The kitchen is fully equipped with Oven, Hob and Washer/dryer, so you can cook proper meals, keep costs down and travel light. Luckily there is also a Dishwasher! Hard to believe now, but until 2017 the house had just one tap and no central heating. Today it has efficient NEST controlled heating, acoustic glass windows, fast WiFi and a Smart TV to Stream your favourite shows. There's also a Nespresso machine, a cafetière and a Teapot. Upstairs is a good sized bedroom with a King Size Bed and fold-down Desk if you need to work during your stay. Downstairs the Lounge has a dining table seating four and a Sofabed. I own, manage and prepare the house myself, it matters to me that everything is right for your stay. Any questions before you book, just message me, I reply within the hour. Guest access You are welcome to use the whole house and its facilities. You will be the only guest(s) staying. Other things to note The 1826 House is a compact one bedroom home of 38.3m² (413ft²). It's cosy and well arranged, but what you see in the photos and description is what you get. Perfect for the right guests, so please take a moment to look through my listing before booking. The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs, accessed via a standard home staircase, pictured. If mobility is a consideration, please message me before booking. There are two sleeping spaces; the king size bed upstairs and a sofabed downstairs. The sofabed is comfortable but has a 100cm mattress rather than a standard bed, worth bearing in mind for two larger adults. The front door opens directly onto a city centre street so there will be some daytime traffic noise, though it quietens in the evenings and at weekends. The acoustic glass windows reduce this significantly and the garden is peaceful. And on the plus side; there's a bus stop 70 metres away. Free unrestricted parking is available around 120 metres away. Message me in advance and I'll point you in the right direction. Full kitchen with oven, hob, washer/dryer and dishwasher. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board provided, plus a few board games for a quiet night and handy if you have children. Children and infants welcome. Please note there is no specialist equipment such as cot or stairgate, but a child's travel bed is available on request. The house is provided clean and tidy….I just ask that you leave it as you find it.
