Buzzard Yurt @ Blackdown Yurts

Buzzard Yurt is an authentic Mongolian yurt that sleeps 6 in one double bed and four single beds. Buzzard is located on a raised deck in the corner of a large field with expansive views over the Devon countryside. Buzzard is part of award-winning Blackdown Yurts, four yurts that collectively sleep 22 in a peaceful hidden valley in the rural Blackdown Hills. Ideally placed for a family or friends getaway with dark skies for star-gazing, plenty of space to run, and campfires for marshmallows. The space Each yurt has a camp kitchen with basic facilities including a gas stove and oven. A nearby communal barn has all kitchen mod cons including kettle, microwave, toaster, gas hob and fridge freezer. Each yurt has a woodburning stove to keep the chill away at night and there is a large sofa and dining area in the barn with a large woodburning stove, ideal for relaxing, playing games, dining and partying. Blackdown Yurts is ideally suited to friends reunions, family gatherings and hen/stag parties. Catering can be provided if all the yurts are taken by one group subject to availability. The site was awarded Bronze in the 2019 Devon Tourism Awards and commended in the 2019 SouthWest Tourism Awards. Guest access Each yurt has its own compost toilet with flushing toilets and hot showers close by in the communal barn. Bed linen is provided but not towels. Two toilet rolls provided per stay along with hand sanitiser and eco-friendly washing up liquid. Other things to note Buzzard is located on a raised deck (new for 2019) in the corner of the main yurt field. The area surrounding Buzzard is maintained as a meadow with mown paths. Buzzard is furthest from the car park and communal barn, but still not very far. Dogs are permitted but please be aware that sheep may be present in the adjacent field. If this will be a problem for your dog we recommend you don't bring them.
