The space Bio Agriturismo Montemenardo is a family run business with a farmhouse resort open to guests, and an organic farm, in the countryside of Todi, in Umbria, Italy. Our family has been practicing farming for generation, and we started the hospitality business in 1993. The farmhouse, property of our family for generations, has been restored for the first time in the ‘90s, when it has been divided into different apartments that present the old Umbria style architecture with thick stone walls and beamed ceilings. We offer different accommodation for different needs: self catering cottages for 2 to 5 people, with fully equipped kitchen, and an ecofriendly cottage with 2 separate accommodations, surrounded by our olive trees, which has been restored in a more modern, but still country, style. Each unit has private ensuite bathroom and private entrance, so that all our guests can enjoy privacy and relax. Close to the farmhouse, the old barn has been restored and is now our reception desk. In the warmer months, you can relax at the swimming pool in the garden and enjoy the view of the hills around us. We are always available for our guests, both at the reception desk and via phone or text, for any possible need. Our agriturismo offers a wonderful spot to base your holiday, from here you can easily reach all the most beautiful places of central Italy: Todi, Orvieto, Assisi, Firenze, Rome, and all the smallest villages nearby. Montemenardo is also perfect if you like to wander in the beautiful woodland around, and walk through the many paths to discover the local flora and fauna and to enjoy great views of our hills. Montemenardo is an ecofriendly farmhouse, our aim is to create a wonderful experience for our guests and protect and save our territory at the same time. We practice organic farming to protect our environment, our produces are: organic extra virgin olive oil, wheat and barley, pulses, flax seeds and flax oil, safflower oil. We also supply our resort with clean energy from the sun, provided by photovoltaics installed on our roofs. Guest access Enjoy a relaxing holiday where you can spend a summer afternoon at the pool, with a view over the surrounding villages, while you can also visit the most interesting places of Umbria. You can hike around our property, along the fields and woods, immersed in a magical atmosphere that unites nature and history, until you reach an ancient bridge of the Roman era, set in a pine wood. Agriturismo Montemenardo is in Todi, in the Media Valle del Tevere area, more or less at the center or Umbria, an ideal base to visit all surrounding cities and villages. Around us: Todi, just 10 minutes away, is know for Jacopone da Todi, a world famous medieval poet, and offers a range of historical monuments that attest for its important past in the etruscan, roman and medieval epochs. Walking among its “vicoli” alleys you can discover the most important monuments like Il Duomo, San Fortunato and Consolazione cathedrals, or you can enjoy the underground tour “Todi Sotterranea”. Todi is also the land of Grechetto di Todi, an excellent local white wine. Close to Todi you can find Massa Martana, Montecastello Vibio with its smallest theatre, San Gemini and Amelia. For a longer day trip you can visit towns that are world famous for their excellent wines, like Montefalco, home to Sagrantino wine, Orvieto, Spello, Foligno and Spoleto. Other interesting places are Perugia, the city that has one of the most ancient Universities in the world, Assisi, home to San Francesco, Norcia, Cascia. Archeological sites are: the Etruscan Necropolis and Saint Patrick’s Well, both in Orvieto, or Carsulae, a roman city along the Flaminia road. For a day trip in the nature, Dunarobba has an ancient Forest of Fossil Trees, or near Terni you can visit Marmore Waterfalls.
