Healesville Yarra Valley Cottage

The cottage is a small self contained cabin on a picturesque property. It is simple, comfortable, clean and private. This space is perfect for people looking for a quiet stay in a rural location with access to all the Yarra Valley offers. The space Comfy private self contained cabin set on 3 hectare rural property. A short 5 min drive from the picturesque town of Healesville, renowned for its wildlife sanctuary, bush walks, food and wine and burgeoning arts scene. The location provides easy access to town, but in a rural and picturesque setting The cabin is one bed/sitting room with ensuite bathroom and a really nice deck looking out over a vast expanse of lawn. It has a comfy double bed with electric blanket,and there is tea and snack making facilities, mobile phone coverage, ipod dock, and CD player.We are happy to loan from our CD collection during your stay. The room isn't huge, but it is cosy and comfortable, with a floor to ceiling window next to the bed so that you can lie in bed and look out to the mountains. Most times you will get to see mobs of kangaroos grazing on the lawn. It is situated far enough away from the house for privacy without feeling abandoned. If you're up for the walk into town it is a 30 min walk, or a 5 min drive. It's also great for bike riding, and many guests have taken advantage of the great rides from this location. A town bus operates on a limited timetable. Situated just around the corner is Tarrawarra Museum of contemporary Australian Art, host to the Archibald prize during July. During September Open Studios provide a great opprtunity to explore local artists studios. During October visit the Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition. Enjoy all year round for a peaceful getaway The property is surrounded by wildlife including kangaroos who come onto the property most nights, and abundant birdlife. If you're the sporty type,the area is great for bushwalks and bike rides. Healesville is great for boutique shopping, and friendly cafes' Fine dining is available at the Healesville Hotel (bookings essential) R.A.C.V. Country Club, and there are plenty of great cafes and restaurants. This is a place to relax, kick back and enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery,take a hot air balloon ride, take in the local sights, such as Healesville Sanctuary,Badger Weir, Maroondah Dam, or use as a base to explore the Yarra Valley and beyond. We wanted to offer a simple place to stay which was clean comfortable and affordable, so that guests could enjoy what the region has to offer without having to spend large sums on accommodation. Guest access Guests are welcome to wander through the garden. The cabin has a nice deck to enjoy a glass of wine and sit in the sun. Other things to note There are kangaroos and other wildlife on the property. We would appreciate taking care, and taking off shoes inside cabin to avoid soiling carpet.
