Romantically secluded in twelve acres of stunning woodland, the Dovetails log cabin is a cosy hide out, far away from the hustle and bustle. The woodlands and grasslands here provide plenty of space to unwind , relax and reflect, the dark skies and campfire are perfect for stargazing and marshmallow toasting. Your experience is to have the comforts of home whilst feeling like you are camping. It's is a true outside living experience yet with a comfortable bed, hot shower and a equipped kitchen The space Welcome back. We have been shut for a while but we have been busy. Doing a massive upgrade... Unfortunately we had to bring down some trees from around the cabin, due to ash die back. This has however allowed more sunlight in, which in turn has helped generate more wild flowers. and of course we have re-planted trees. But they are in their early days. Here you will still find the beautiful log cabin/dovetails wagon. Lovingly hand crafted here at Woodenways making use of traditional full scribe methods. The wagon comes fully furnished, inc beautiful bedding and towels. We can supply you with electric and running water. Including hot!!! The cabin has the snuggest double bed, a romantic dining table for candle lit dinners, and a cosy living area which includes a glass fronted woodworm stove -Snuggle up with a mug of hot choccy or a glass of wine by the crackling fire as the sounds of the wild woods go by outside! The wagon now has it's own shower and kitchen at the back of it. The kitchen been fully equipped. It also has a fridge now too!!! The shower room is gorgeous, it's like showering in the woods but inside and with hot water. You can relax with the sound of birdsong and the russle of leaves. Once you have experienced it you will understand. The wood-fired sauna (shown in photo's) is also yours to make use of during your stay! Dovetails also has its own 'loo with a view' - a wooden compost loo just a skip away from the wagon! Outside the Dovetails wagon is the essential outdoor camp-fire complete with wooden chairs. You can just enjoy a fire listening to the owls, toast marshmallows or enjoy a bit of star gazing. Guest access You have your own access to the cabin. There is a parking space at the top of the field that is solely yours. You will need to walk across the field to the cabin. Other things to note Dovetails is perfect for couples, due the fact that it is so romantic by nature and because it has one permanent double bed. However we welcome larger camping parties should you want to bring friends or family as there is plenty of space around the wagon and in the field to pitch tents! £10 per person per night. We also recommend the area for horse riding, and will even welcome riders to bring their horses along and keep them in the stables that we have here! Though Idyllic, Dovetails is rustic and best suited to those who like a simple experience. A love for the outdoors is a necessity! If you don't mind stomping through the occasional muddy patch, walking through a field, and the listening to soundscape of owls, deer, foxes, badgers and rabbits then this is the place for you! There is little phone signal, and no Wifi -think of it as a kind of digital detox!- but don't panick, there is internet in Dan’s house if you really need it! Don't forget to bring: - A torch!!! (the lack of light pollution mean the dark skies here are perfect for star gazing but you will need a torch to get around the woods at night.) We recommend you bring: -Sensible shoes -A lighter (we will provide matches and fire wood for the log burner, but a spare lighter is always handy!)
