Right in the street behind the apartment, you can reach the Garden and Walk of Virtudes, a splendid green location, offering fantastic views over Douro River. The quarter of Cândido dos Reis and Galeria de Paris streets, with its trendy and design bookshops, shops, cafés and restaurants, where you can enjoy the best of night life in Porto downtown, is only 200 meters away, and the Miguel Bombarda street, Porto’s cultural/artistic quarter, with dozens of art galleries and alternative shops, is also very close on foot. Anyone older than 13 years, staying a night in Porto, pays the tax per night, per person for a maximum of seven straight nights per person and per stay. Who is exempt from paying the tourist tax? a) People travelling for medical treatment, and continue therapy in medical facilities. Family members and/or companions are exempt also. Documentary evidence of medical and care service has to be provided (or equivalent document). b) People who are disabled to a degree of 60%. Supporting documents must be presented. Tourist Tax rates? 3€ per overnight stay and per person, up to a maximum total value of 21€ (Seven straight nights per overnight stay/person). How to pay the tourist tax?
