Traditional Seaside House in Plakes

The house is located in Plakes Vlychos-20 meters straight up from the main pier. Plakes at Vlychos is a little village 45 min walk from the harbor, 5 min with the boat and 3 min with the boat taxi. Underneath the house is one of the most beautiful remote little beaches in Vlychos. The house is one of the oldest houses in the area. It belonged to the family of Verveniotis, one of the richest families in Greece at the time-19th century, dealing with the sponge trade. The space At the property there are 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the rest with 2 single beds, 1 sitting room with a fireplace,1 large kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a terrace in front with a view, and a backyard covered with pine trees. There is always, any time of the day, a place with natural shade at the house. It is built from very good technicians, has very thick walls and the position of windows is such, that the place is cool. There are floor fans in case of immense heat. Guest access Two well organized beaches where they can rent canoe kayaks, A scuba diving school nearby, Thee very good taverns, A coffee place, Beautiful paths next to the sea and through Pinetree forest for hiking and breathtaking sunsets to watch. Other things to note The house is at Plakes, a small settlement by the sea, very near the pier. 2 minutes to the right there is an organized beach and a restaurant and 7 minutes to the other side there is also another organized beach and two restaurants. In between there are small secluded beaches. However, there are not any shops at Plakes. We do shopping at the port of Hydra and we carry them with the boat, because the distance walking is 50 minutes. It is a very nice walk early in the morning or before sunset, but without carrying stuff. The house will have water, basic stuff-oil, sugar, coffee ect. and a few things for breakfast for the first day. Some gusts do their shopping when they first arrive and then get a taxi to Plakes and others go shopping with the boat the following day. There are taxis 30 euros for all and boats, that are like busses every half hour and cost 10 euros for a return ticket each.
