‘Watlington House’ boasts a new addition … our wonderful Pianola! Our village sits happily in the little village of Poatina, which is on the edge of the majestic Great Western Tiers, overlooking the extensively spectacular valley which almost runs the length of the Island of Tasmania ...So quite a treasured location! Poatina is a unique village which is all about its community. A great place to base yourself for exploring the area. Return home to tranquility & peace at Watlington House! The space Watlington House is our little country haven. We have furnished it, hoping to make you feel at home, with enough special touches to also make it feel a little bit of a treat. And our new addition of a pianola is available to entertain all ages for hours! For the children, lots of little fun discoveries to enjoy! For the adults, lots of books to either relax into or inspire, equipment to work the body, or simply sit at our English Library Table to stretch the mind or be creative! The golf course also is renowned for its quality greens and stunning views! We are an 'old school town' reflecting much of the Hydro era! The bushwalking is well marked and plenty of different ones to choose from, providing walks for all levels of enjoyment. Guest access The house provides three bedrooms, one Queen size, one double and one with two singles. There is a lovely sun soaked verandah and front room to watch the world go by! Or watch the children play in our large garden, or bush walks, many beautiful early morning walks, or late afternoon strolls to watch the sun rise or go down, pending on your desire for which end of the day you prefer! Other things to note We have a general store in the village open generally 10am- 4pm. Otherwise, shopping is best done at HillStreet IGA in Longford before you arrive. We also have a wonderful Cafe that is open Friday Saturday and Sunday with fabulous home baked food at SUPER reasonable prices.
