Mount Tutu Eco-Sanctuary, a bird sanctuary, nature retreat. If you are after a nature experience, bird life, starry skies, peaceful tranquility away from the city & crowds, then this is for you. Included, guests experience a personally guided up close & personal evening Glow Worm Tour (1 hr) & Rainforest Nature Tour(1.5 hr). We offer a rustic & authentic experience with the charm and hospitality of yesteryear, built using recycled materials and fittings, styled in the Retro Decor of the 1970's. The space Included in tariff is a 1 hour Evening Glow Worm Tour, a 1.5 hour Rainforest Nature Tour and a hearty continental and cooked breakfast. We are situated hidden in a Rainforest Sanctuary and are proud to be "off the beaten track". The whare with ensuite, is compact and cosy, 5m X 3m with outside deck for your use only. In your room are tea and coffee making facilities, cookies, chocolates and fresh flowers. Enjoy gardens, bush walks and feeding the animals (sheep, goats and chickens). Tennis Court We have a minimum 2 night stay. Guest access Sole use of Whare (room with ensuite) and deck, separate Guest Lounge (shared with other guests) - Guest Lounge includes microwave, fridge, crockery, cutlery and plenty of games and books. There is also a BBQ for your use and another shared patio deck. Large garden, with walks, clay tennis court with racquets and balls, bush walks through the forest with trees over 500 years old in this QEII National Trust sanctuary. Other things to note Mount Tutu Eco-Sanctuary is only 45 minutes from Rotorua, 30 minutes from Mount Maunganui, 25 minutes from Tauranga, 15 minutes from "takeaways" and grocery store.
