'Nanny's Room', Waikonini Homestead

'Waikonini Homestead' is a seven bedroom historic home, located five minutes from the village of Peel Forest on acres of lush botanic gardens. It is a 'destination' and should be relished as a place to unwind. Couples, families or groups welcome. The space Wake each morning to the sound of birdsong and nature. Plenty of space for you to relax and unwind, whether it be in one of the many rooms of the house, on the veranda or under a tree in the large, peaceful garden. A number of private rooms are available - please see my other listings for more information. Guests will have access to a choice of two bathrooms, laundry, kitchen, as well as a number of other rooms in the house i.e. T.V. room and conservatory. Please see my other listings for additional options for rooms. I am generally around the house during your stay to take care of you, and give you advice on local attractions/activities. I am happy to cook an evening meal for you for an extra cost. Buses pass through Geraldine. The small village of Peel Forest (and a small general store/tearooms) is only 5 minutes drive from the house. It is 10 minutes drive to the Inland Scenic Route (State highway 72), and 25 minutes to Ashburton. Peel Forest is home to a wide range of outdoor activities such as horse trekking, river rafting, bush walks and beautiful scenery. Buses pass through Geraldine. The small village of Peel Forest (and a small general store/tearooms) is only 5 minutes drive from the house. It is 10 minutes drive to the Inland Scenic Route (State Highway 72), and 25 minutes to the town of Ashburton, and State Highway 1. A great setting, good food and company. Feel free to relax in the house and garden, or use the house as a 'home base' for local events & activities. Guest access This listing is for a double room, with one double bed on the upper floor.
