Spacious house in a huge wooded garden, perfect for families, children and dogs, or couples wanting to escape from a busy city life! Close to the Glen Affric mountains and National Nature Reserve. We now have a camera in our barn owl box so you can log into the app and watch their activities! the box is just beside the house. The space The house was a self build and family home for many years. It has a turf roof, mix of stone and wooden floors with underfloor heating and an open plan kitchen / living area with a wood-burning stove. There are three bedrooms: one with a king size bed, one with two singles, and one with a double bed and a double sofa bed. The garden is part cultivated and part wild, so a great space for children to explore. A steep uphill climb into the wood behind the house gives private access into the Nature Reserve. There are any amount of walks and cycle routes to choose, from the door, or by exploring three spectacularly scenic local glens, Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar. There is also a table tennis table and BBQ and outdoor seating. An owl nest box just beside the house, is usually occupied all year, and wildlife is abundant around the garden. There is no mobile reception at the house but a good signal in Cannich (4 miles) The wifi has been upgraded and so is now unlimited and reliable. Guest access Guests will have the house and garden to themselves, however dog owners please note that the garden is not fully contained by a fence and walkers with dogs will pass on the track about 150m away and occasionally neighbours dogs will arrive at the house to visit your dogs! Other things to note There is a semi-pond in front of the house - it is often full in the winter and dries out in the summer. It is a great wildlife habitat but young children will need supervision as it can contain deep water and be boggy. Children of all ages are very welcome but please note that there are ponds and a river accessible from the garden and toddler guards are not provided for the stairs or wood burning stove.
