Yurt in Madeley
Description
The Barn at Lees Farm is nestled in the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage site, this locally made felt lined Yurt gives you a generous space with a double cast iron bed. Heated by wood burner, making it lovely and cosy. The Yurt is Off Grid so you can truly enjoy relaxing, indoors & outdoors, whilst enjoying home comforts. Cook outdoors using the firepit/pizza oven or indoors on the wood burner or camping stove. Dog friendly. Wood Fired Hot Tub (EXTRA). Firepit. Fairy Lights, Blankets and Nature. The space The space for your stay is beyond the yurt making it quite private. There is a table, benches and fire pit. Also use of a BBQ/pizza oven (extra) and tripod grill for cooking over the open fire. This is quite a rustic space set under a canopy of woodland trees. There will be wildlife, bugs and low lighting to accommodate all of this. This area is just for your use, as is the hot tub (extra)There is another accommodation attached to my barn but neither have view of other space and you enjoy a private secluded space. I love hosting young people but due to the woodburning stove having no safety surround, outdoor firepit and hot tub decking there are hazards for children. This is also a woodland setting with trees, nettles, brambles etc. Please get in touch if you have questions. There is a gas shower but this isn’t always available and depends on weather and water pressure. There is a portable shower pump available if the shower is out of order. This works by boiling the kettle and filling the container with shower hot water. It works with a rechargeable electric pump and is hand held. Hot tub is for private use with The Yurt and is an extra charge, with different options. Having the hot tub lit for ready for you, may depend on my availability on the day. The hot tub is an extra charge of £30 this includes enough wood (kiln dried to ensure best heat and shortest time) to heat the tub for the first heat. It is around 1-2 bags per heat for the next or subsequent days charged at £5 per bag. To refill and relight is £30 I can have the hot tub lit ready for your arrival for £60 (if you decide not to use it but have requested this, you will still need to pay the £60) If you wish to bring your own wood then a charge of £20 will still be made to cover the costs of making the hot tub ready. I suggest 3-4 bags of kiln dried to ensure 3 hour heat time. PLEASE NOTE - IF YOU HAVE REQUESTED THAT THE HOT TUB IS HEATED FOR YOUR ARRIVAL, IT WILL BE AT THE CORRECT TEMP THE ETA /TIME GIVEN/REQUESTED I AM AFRAID I CANT GIVE A REFUND ON THE STAY IF THE TUB ISNT AVAILABLE DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS OR UNAVOIDABLE ISSUES. If you don’t give a time then I will light it for 4pm ish and it can be kept warm for the evening. As is it wood fired it will retain some heat but will not stay warm for hours should you decide not to use it. It will need re-lighting. Wood can be purchased for £10 per large bag. The hot tub gets VERY hot and water temp cannot be regulated as it is wood fired. It is a two person hot tub and we don't recommend it for young children or pregnant women. Please do not let children play around the hot tub area. There is also a Pizza Oven available with two options. £15 for dough, équipement, wood and fire lighters . Cook and light yourself. £10 hire inc wood Guest access Parking is shared and is in front of The Barn & access to the yurt runs behind the annex. If arriving late, please be aware of this, as the the main bedroom backs on to this path. Hot tub is for private use with The Yurt and is an extra charge, with different options. I do provide enough to get you going. Wood can be purchased on site for £10 per bag. Feel free to bring your own or purchase from Tesco locally. Due to the off grid nature of the accommodation, there are some quirks and possibilities depending on the weather etc. It is low lighting in the yurt and outside the yurt also, this is due to wildlife needs and being within a world heritage site. Please bear this is mind during winter months. The shower uses a water supply that is prone to low pressure so the shower cannot be guaranteed to be hot as the water flow ignites the gas. I do provide a rechargeable hand held shower that works via filling a container with warm water. If I am in I am happy to provide this water, but otherwise you can boil a kettle. The wood burner does not have a fire surround as it is in the centre of the yurt, so very young children must be supervised should you want the burner lit. In very heavy rain you may experience a few drips. Lighting is low and there is no mains power at all, there are fairy lights and small solar lights. The hot tub is entirely dependent on keeping the fire fully fuelled with wood and being around to tend it. The minimum time it takes is 3 hours. Weather and fire lighting skills dependant. If freezing it may not be possible to use the tub due to frozen water supply. There is a Pizza oven option available. £15 for dough, equipment Inc wood and fire lighters. £10 hire inc wood
