Bickham Cottage - A beautiful hidden valley

Bickham Cottage Located in a wonderful hidden wooded valley comprising of 150 acres of farmland, woodland, seven acres of mature gardens and a pretty lake. Bickham cottage feels rural, yet is conveniently situated within five miles of Exeter and within easy reach of Dartmoor National Park and the Devon coastline. The cottage is part of a larger estate comprising a main house, divided into two residences, where the owners and their extended family live, as well as a working organic farm. The space Bickham cottage is located about 50 metres from the main house, and forms part of the old stable blocks and former coach house. The cottage is a completely self-contained unit with its own private back garden. Fully equipped for a self catering holiday, it is a lovely country cottage with character, imperfections and charm. A comfortable and relaxed space with central heating throughout and a cosy woodburner in the sitting room, with free baskets of logs provided. There is a small conservatory to the rear and a large games room (unheated) with full size table tennis table, darts board and sofa and a pretty garden with lots of seating and a fire pit. The master bedroom has a king size bed and is accessed off of the sitting room up a short flight of stairs. It has its own small en-suite shower room and loo. It's a lovely character room with a low ceiling and beams and a view of the walled kitchen garden. There are two further bedrooms up the main stairs, one double with a king size bed and a twin room with two single beds. Both rooms have their own sinks. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom at the bottom of the stairs. All the beds have really good mattresses, high quality bedding and are extremely comfortable. There is a TV with a DVD / Blu-ray player and an Amazon Fire TV stick, as well as a stereo system with DAB radio, CD, Bluetooth and aux input for playing music off other devices. There is fibre internet and Wi-Fi in the cottage with around 300Mb download speed. Guest access We are very happy for guests to look around the main gardens, and walks through the farm and woodland are also fine as long as standard countryside protocol about gates, crops and animals are observed. Other things to note Parking. You can come through a gate and drive up to the cottage when you arrive to unload. After that you are welcome to park on the gravel in front of the main house if you prefer, which means you don't have to open and shut the gates etc. Dogs: We have four dogs here at Bickham who are all super friendly but like to have a bit of a bark when new guests first arrive! They are generally out and about, and not particularly clever when it comes to vehicles, so we ask that you drive very slowly and carefully once you are through the gates. Noise level: Bickham Cottage is part of a small community, including the main house, as well as a working farm with a further holiday cottage, so we would ask that consideration is given later on in the evenings when you are outside. Smoking: There is no smoking inside Bickham Cottage, the conservatory or the games room. However, it is all right to smoke in the back garden away from open doors.
