Lovely coastal views in beautifully furnished spacious 3 bedroom cottage in wonderful Portmahomack, just off NC500, 40 miles north of Inverness, 1 hour from Inverness Airport. Views over the beach and harbour. Sunsets over the water. (Although we are on the east coast, we face west over the sea!) Wood stove. Garden. Discounts on week-long bookings. Local pub and places to eat out. Romantic place for peace and quiet, or for family, or friends . We accept one good-citizen dog... The space Sunset View Cottage is a fantastic home in an elevated position in the village giving wonderful open views of the sandy beach, the harbour, the sea and the hills. The house is called Sunset View Cottage because, despite being on the east coast, we face westwards over the sea, so we get great sunsets over the water. (And maybe even the Northern Lights if you’re very lucky). The house, built in the 1850s, has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard which ensures a comfortable stay. Furnishings are high quality including some individually designed and built pieces by Hame Furniture, and the house is decorated with a seaside theme. Downstairs we have a large open plan living / kitchen / dining room with wonderful views through patio doors to the garden, the sea and the hills. We have a lovely wood burning stove (wood supplied) although the house is very well heated and insulated even without the stove. There is also Sky TV on a Smart TV and there is good wifi for those who want to stay connected to the outside world! Also downstairs is a comfortable double bedroom, and an excellent good size bathroom with walk in shower. There is also a utility room with washer and drier in case you feel the need to do washing on your holidays! (If you are bringing a dog, this is their drying off area!). Upstairs, there is another double bedroom with king bed, which enjoys the same views to the sea described above, a third twin bedroom, and a second bathroom - which also has an over-bath shower. And there is a lovely a little upstairs landing with 2 chairs where you can sit and read or maybe just admire the view and watch the birds go by at eye level! We have comfortable seating outside on the patio and there is a barbecue. Entry to the house is by a keysafe which is on the front corner of the house, and we sned you your code a could of days before you are due to arrive. Other things to note Our changeover lady comes in before every booking to change beds and to do a a thorough clean. We do ask people to leave the house clean and tidy for the next people coming in.
