During late spring and early summer guests have been lucky enough to be able to watch the cuckoo's nestling being reared in the shrubs immediately behind the hut. This single roomed hut is subdivided to contain a comfy standard double bed, a lounging area, a small kitchenette with a fridge, hot plate, microwave, toaster and kettle, and a screened bathing area with a basin, flushing toilet and deep soaking tub. Outside the hut has it’s own picnic and barbecue area. Bedding, towels, crockery and cooking equipment are all provided along with locally produced toiletries, basic condiments and some charcoal and wood for the barbecue and stove. Pets must not be left unattended in the accommodation. By booking guests that break these rules must agree to leave the property immediately. No refund will be given. £20 pet fee per stay. Pets must be booked in prior to check in via Air Bnb. It is advised that ferry tickets are purchased prior to booking accommodation as the ferries often get fully booked several weeks in advance. Unfortunately, changes to reservation dates cannot be arranged within 14 days of the check in date because of difficulties getting vacancies refilled at short notice due to the limited transport links. The mobile signal in this area of the Outer Hebrides is not always reliable so make a note of directions and contact numbers before you leave. The nearest supermarket is about eight miles away so pick up some provisions on the way. Wood burner: Enough wood is supplied to fuel the wood burner for a couple of hours per night. If you want to use the wood burner for longer periods or are visiting during the winter it is a good idea to purchase extra timber on route before you reach the islands as fire wood here is more expensive and is often in short supply.
