Transport-wise the area is really well served with buses going to Brixton underground station in 10 minutes and there is a train station at walking distance which takes you into the City of London and Clerkenwell. There's also the Overground Line (part of the city underground) from Denmark Hill Station, which is 10 minutes walk (towards Camberwell): a handy link if you want to visit trendy Shoreditch/ Hackney or Clapham. Brixton is a lively area famous for its Afro Caribbean market and has more recently seen a growing number of trendy restaurants and cafes - it boasts the best pizza in London (Franco Manca) according to Time Out. It also hosts the well-known Brixton Academy and the lovely Ritzy cinema. If you fancy staying in the area some evenings, we recommend the Cambria Pub or the Sun, and if you want to have a stroll to Camberwell (10 minutes walk) both the Tiger and the Bear are worth a visit - plus there's a fantastic Chinese restaurant (very unassuming from outside) called Silk Road: spicy and nothing like your usual sort of Chinese food. The flat is conveniently located to reach Vauhxall, easily and quickly. Via tube, Vauxhall is just two stops away from Brixton; or by bus from Camberwell it's approximately 15 minutes away - see "directions" for details. If you also fancy to explore a part of London a bit off the beaten track, just around the corner the P4 bus takes you in 10-15 minutes to Dulwich Village, one of the oldest recorded villages in London, with a lovely art gallery and old signpost and milestone.
