Tastefully renovated 16th century riverside mill cottage, in the desirable and lovely lakeland village of Caldbeck. Ideal location for accessing the northern fells, with plenty of local walking, a pub, cafes and shops in the village and Carlisle and Keswick under 30 mins drive away. Well suited for families or groups holidaying together, with a spacious modern kitchen, two lounges and four good sized bedrooms. The space A grade II listed cottage converted from an old mill with lots of original features. On the ground floor the entrance hall has a coat and boot cupboard and leads into the kitchen/diner, the main lounge, the 2nd lounge and the downstairs cloakroom/toilet. Both lounges have good sized TV's and the main lounge has seating for up to 10 and a wood burning stove. The kitchen/diner is spacious and has fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven, induction hob, nespresso coffee machine and table seating 8. A stable leads off the main lounge, with a door to the outside - and houses an additional fridge and the freezer, as well as being an ideal place to store bicycles. Upstairs there are four double-sized bedrooms, one with king-sized bed, two with double beds and one with two single beds. One double bedroom has restricted height sloping ceilings. The bedrooms are situated along a large T shaped landing with two bathrooms (one with a bath and one with a shower cubicle) at each end. Outside overlooking the river there is a small garden with bench and small terrace with patio table for 4. Both can be accessed from the front door and the main lounge. There is parking for one car immediately outside the cottage, any further cars can be parked in the village car-park. Guest access Upstairs there is one locked store room and two locked linen cupboards but all other areas of the cottage are free to use. Other things to note The river next to the garden can be fast flowing and the garden walls are low with a drop down to the river. Care should be taken whilst in the garden and small children must be supervised at all times.
