The space This lovely restored 1874 Wrecker's cottage- which used to be two Wrecker's Cottages eons back - is spacious; peaceful; unique; well equipped and inviting, giving privacy yet at the same time, quick access via the back gate, to the beach. The garden is very secluded & a sun trap. There is a three seater bench swing to enjoy as well as three additional seating areas & a bench seat. For the children, a living wigwam is growing away & now there is a contained sand pit & play area for the children There's a brick barbeque in the garden for your use but please, please, leave it clean & tidy after use for the next guests as I won't have time to check it. Thank you. Improvements continue; new wood burner in the lounge: the downstairs toilet has been separated from the bathroom; an en-suite has been installed in the master bedroom & the kitchen is new too. Double glazed windows were installed with the secondary being kept, so effectively it's triple glazed; & a new conservatory also which is also double glazed. All mattresses were replaced in March, 2025. I learnt that in the 1950's, the Cottage was owned by an aunt of Robbie Burns, the poet. Apart from that, Clipper survived the devastating floods of 1953 & was built by 'Wreckers' moons back. Every house has it story! Guest access WiFi is included. There is also a dishwasher. There are some books, DVD's, jigsaws, puzzles & games & lots of information literature relevant to various 'attractions' & things to do close by. Don't forget to see the seals & their pups during late Autumn & Spring, at Horsey Gap further away at Winterton, if you are interested. The Star at Lessingham is a good place to eat as well as Poppylands at Horsey & The Fisherman's Return at Winterton. All accept well behaved dogs. Do book for the Star as they get busy especially during peak times. There is information in Clipper for these & other places to dine & explore. Other things to note Dogs are allowed but please, please, not on the furniture or beds. There is a fee of £15 for the dogs. If required, I can supply a cot (£10 ) & high chair (£5) for your baby. Bath sheets & hand towel are provided for each guest. Additional towels for beach use can be found in the linen basket in the bathroom. During the winter & autumn a bucket of coal & a basket of wood will be left for your use. Additional coal & wood can be purchased from the local shop. Although 3nights minimum stay is preferred, less nights can be considered a fractionally higher cost (+20%). For stays of over 14days ask me for a discount. It's a non-smoking cottage. New Fire regulations do not allow EV's charging at the property & it also invalidates insurance. The nearest charging point is at Tesco's in Stalham about three miles away. No parties too.
