Amber Cottage,Oughtershaw on Dales Way,nr Hawes

Oughtershaw is a tiny, peaceful, rural hamlet of only 8 houses surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Nestling close to Oughtershaw Beck and oozing period charm is Amber Cottage, a traditional Dales house dating from 1732. The cottage is directly on the ‘Dales Way’, so ideal for walkers and is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day exploring everything the Dales have to offer. The space Inside space: On the ground floor there is a lounge and well equipped kitchen with a dining area. Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms - one double, one twin - and a bathroom. Heating for the house is included and is by wood burning stove in the lounge and nsh heaters. Kitchen: The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker, microwave, sink, fridge, washing machine and a radio, as well as a host of utensils. Lounge : The lounge has a sofa, armchairs, TV with Netflix, a DVD player and a Bluetooth speaker. The major feature of the room is the original inglenook fireplace, within which we have installed a wood burning stove which provides excellent heat and better fuel efficiency. We provide the logs and coal. There is a selection of books and maps of the area,large collection of DVDs and a games cupboard with children’s toys and board games. There is a good WiFi connection at the cottage but as a result of its rural location, please note that there is no mobile phone signal. Bedrooms: Bed linen and towels are provided. Bathroom: With WC, hand basin and bath(no shower) Outside: Parking for 2 cars on the driveway. There is a large private garden with garden furniture. Oughtershaw Beck is just over the wall at the end of the garden. I'm afraid we do not allow the charging of EV cars from the property . The nearest charging points are in Hawes and Buckden. Guest access The house is made ready for you by our lovely local caretakers. On the day of arrival, the keys will be available from the key safe by the front door from 4.00 pm. On the day of departure, check out time is 10.00 am. Other things to note Guests should note that due to the rural location of Amber cottage, there is no mobile phone signal. However, we have a good WiFi connection, so guests can make calls via FaceTime, Whats App & Sk ype . Due to the wood burning stove and the proximity to the beck ,I’m afraid we are unable to host children under the age of 4. Please be aware, that as a traditional Dales Cottage (dating from 1732) it does have lower ceilings than a modern house. We do not allow the charging of ev cars from our electric supply. The nearest charging points are Hawes and Buckden .
