Other things to note Apple Gum is a low-impact eco cottage. We generate our own electricity through our large solar system and harvest our own filtered rain water for cleaning and drinking (no chemicals!). Our cottage also features an Eco Flo waterless composting toilet. Don't worry, there is absolutely no smell :-) Feel free to walk through the paddocks and meet the animals: We will provide you with a complimentary bag of pellets. Approach gently and hold out your hand with an open palm. They're very friendly and curious, but don't be upset if they don't let you pat them. Horses: The horses love a treat and a pat! We will provide you with some horse pellets for them. They also love fresh apples and carrots. Approach gently so you don't startle them - Walk slowly towards them and when they see you, stop for a moment. Then, slowly walk toward them again and hold out your hand for them to smell you. You can then feed them, pat them and have a chat. Always be careful not to walk behind them or startle them. Wild animals: Our hills and paddocks are home to a range of wild animals, including kangaroos, deer and bandicoots. They are often seen in the long grass and around the dam early in the morning. These are wild animals so it is always best to keep a safe distance.
