La Vieille Ferme with private heated pool & WiFi

La Vieille Ferme is our 15th Century home in the quiet hamlet of Bors, Pressignac in the Charente. The beautiful Haute Charente leisure lakes at Videix are just 3 miles away. The house is set in private grounds of over an acre with a large, heated and alarmed swimming pool . Open & covered terraces are the perfect place for al fresco dining. The house was renovated in 2016 and is beautifully decorated throughout and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Limoges Airport is a 35 minute drive. The space The house sleeps up to 8 people in four bedrooms. It has three very large double bedrooms with king sized beds and memory foam mattresses. The fourth bedroom has adult size bunk beds. We also have a travel cot and high chair. There is over an acre and a half of garden to explore and enjoy. The wonderful heated 10m x 5m private swimming pool with Roman steps is fully enclosed and has an in pool alarm. A selection of loungers and parasols makes it the perfect place to sunbathe. A covered terrace complete with gorgeous Bamblecrest teak table and chairs is the ideal place to enjoy an alfresco lunch or delicious BBQ. La Vieille Ferme has a second terrace with comfy rattan sofas and reclining armchairs - the perfect for relaxing and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. A third patio and seating area is located at the back of the house, a great place for a game of boules. We have holidayed in France for the past 12 years and 2 years ago took the plunge and bought this beautiful house. In 2016 the house was completely renovated with a new roof, new wiring and a beautiful handmade oak kitchen fitted. During our years of holidaying in France, we have stayed in many beautiful holiday homes, but we have always asked ourselves, ‘If this was ours what would we do differently?’ As a result we have tried to incorporate the best bits, and added the bits we thought were missing to make La Vieille Ferme the perfect holiday home - ideal for extended families yet perfect for a romantic stay for two. Just some of our reviews: April 2018 - Absolutely stunning, blown away when we pulled up and couldn’t believe we were going to stay there! A treasure we didn’t want to leave. Felt like home as soon as I stepped in and the kind of home I wish we had back in the UK! Everything you want - warm, spacious, cosy, clean, comfortable, high specification throughout - a positive feel wherever you are in the house. The gardens and views are amazing and incredibly relaxing. Sadly it wasn’t warm enough for the pool however it looks superb and will definitely be visiting again so I can enjoy a swim in the sun. The location is just a short drive from many beautiful places offering great food, culture, shopping and entertainment. A truly perfect holiday - highly recommended you will not be disappointed. November 2017 - From the moment you enter the the door of La Vieille Ferme you know it is going to be a wonderful experience. The kitchen/dining room is a lovely open space with everything you could possible want to cook up a storm. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable. Outside there is a heated swimming pool, a covered verandah with BBQ and 1.5 acres of open yard space. If it is peace and tranquility you are looking for - or a base to come home to after a day of enjoying the culinary delights of the surrounding area then La Vieille Ferme is definitely the place for you. April 2018 - Review of the amazing La Vieille Ferme, mid stay. Relaxed beyond belief, driving a pleasure, and sun all the way. The house oozes charm and tranquility. We had lovely French friends today, the gent was a carpenter who has 25 plus years experience in guitar making. He knows his woods. La Vieille was a playground for him. The staircase is a select Yew, and profiled by a craftsman. The flooring upstairs is two types of Chestnut, perfect for location as a really stable wood for internal purpose. The fact it is left, natural, means Spiders and Insect will avoid these areas at all times, as it gives a hidden scent - I did say he knows his woods. He respected and loved every detail.
