A sprawled out old house built around a grand courtyard, this room leads to an interconnected balcony which gives a view of the city below. The room is infused with warmth and luxury and it reminds you of a bygone era. Here, the time stands still when you witness the magnificent sunrise or the breath-taking sunset. Also, This place is the house of Maharaj Mahendra Singh Ji who pioneered Tourism in the Jaisalmer City and put it on the Tourism map of India! The space This 12th century palatial property is located inside the Jaisalmer Fort which is the main throb of the city. This place is the biggest Haveli inside the Fort. This place was made to house the King of the yesteryear even before the Palace Museum was built. Since the fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, every nook and corner of this property and its surrounding areas are impregnated with history. The First Royal Family of Jaisalmer resided in this property and it has been passed on for generations now. The room is well ventilated and flooded with natural sunlight. The furniture here is antique with modern comfortable mattresses and amenities. A clean sanitized attached bathroom offers 24 hours hot & cold water. This room is on the first floor and can be accessed through a staircase and has a balcony running all along which offers a birds eye view of the city below. The big arched glass windows offer you a perfect view from the very comfort of your room. The room has Air Conditioning along with the heating facilities available on demand. Also, an electric kettle is provided on request, but how about you try our Masala Chai! The balcony is sprawled out and gives a breath-taking view of the sunset and the city below. You can relax here, soak up the sun while having your favourite drink and in the night, a canopy of stars sprinkle Stardust upon you. The rooftop which is accessible to the guests also gives magnificent views of the city! Once you're here, you'd never want to leave (trust me!) Other Listing: I have a few other rooms listed here which are in the same premises and are equally or more done up keeping the history of the place in mind. Guest access Guest have access to the courtyard, the balcony, the rooftop & the common area (Hall). During your stay I would be delighted if you join me over a cup of coffee and I would love to share conversations with you! If you wish to learn any traditional Rajasthani cuisine, I would be more than happy to teach you! Other things to note * The charge here includes: - Breakfast - Pick up from the station & bus stand - WiFi access *Since the house is located inside the Jaisalmer Fort (which has been declared a world heritage monument), a walk of about 150 metres from the main square reaches you to the house. (Kindly be advised). *Since the room is located on the first floor, its accessible through the staircase. (Kindly be Advised). *I have a friendly pet at our property (a four-legged furry bundle of joy), so kindly keep that in mind. *I can offer a swimming pool in another palatial property of the same ownership. *I offer free pick up from the railway station and the bus stop on request. *I offer the best culinary treats on the rooftop and in the courtyard so let me know if you'd be interested in taking the experience or learning to cook any authentic Rajasthani dishes. *I also organise traditional folk music and dance programmes along with dinner in a palatial heritage property not far away from the fort. *I can also organise Dinner around an Oasis (A quiet lake in the desert). *I also organise a traditional "Maalish" (Massage) with home made herb-infused oils which you can avail on request *Extra Charge for guests after 2 people - one thousand per person per night after 2 guests (Extra guests to be counted as anyone above the age of five). *Please feel free to contact me to request any of the above mentioned facilities because you might be short of time during your stay here as this place is full of its own share of sightseeing and interesting historical excursions.
