Hadley's Apartment has 2 beds; a double and a single. It features a large kitchen, private bathroom and is bigger than most in Kobarid. The house has a private garden for relaxing & BBQs. Hemingway House Holiday Apartments is a 19th century townhouse in the centre of Kobarid which has been transformed into five unique self-contained apartments. The Apartments have all been named after Ernest Hemingway's wives and this spacious studio apartment (35sqm) has been named after his first wife Hadley. This apartment (35sqm) I has queen double bed with an orthopedic mattress and ceiling fan directly above it. There is also a single bed. I use 100% cotton sheets and provide 2 pillows each. The kitchen is larger than average and has tons of storage space. It has a 4 ring electric stove, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, Bodum French press and Bialetti coffee makers and cooking equipment and crockery for three people. There is also a set of plastic tableware for children or picnics. The dining room table seats three people and there is a wood burning stove in the apartment outside the summer season. The room has an en-suite bathroom, which has plenty of storage space and mirrors and an electric towel rail. The apartment is located in the front of the house on the main floor and is access via the front door of the house. It has its own private and lockable door. Please note that the apartment is right on the road. The windows are double glazed and at night there is light traffic on the road. So, it isn't that noisy, particularly if you have the ceiling fan switched on. Also, as it's possible for people walking by to see into the apartment at night if the curtains aren't drawn. In the day you really have to put your face directly to the window to see in. This is why this apartment is priced the same or cheaper than the local hostal. Pets are welcome in this apartment during the whole season for an additional €10 cleaning fee and if you agree to my pet policy. Please write and I will email you the details. Parking: There is free parking just behind the Kulturi Dom a 3 minute walk from the house, it's huge so there is always space. You can unload your bags for free at the parking lot across the street as the first hour is for free (afterwards it costs €0.50 per hour). If leaving before 0900 there are 3 other parking places closer to the house you can use. Extras: Guests can do their own laundry at a cost of €4/load after 1600 on a first come first served basis. Please note there is NOT a tumble dryer for your use, only clothes airers. If I have spare time during the day I will make every effort to do your laundry for you if you give it to me in the morning. Breakfast is also available upon request at an added cost of €10/per person / per night. It consists of tea, coffee, hot milk, juice, fresh fruits, museli and corn flakes, yogurt, breads, meats, cheeses and a boiled egg. The breakfast can also be adapted to suit your tastes..ie. apple juice vs. orange juice etc. On Sundays I make crepes as the local bakery is closed. I have tried to make this apartment a home away from home for guests and I wish you a very happy stay here in the Soca Valley. Guest access Hemingway House has two terraces from which to admire the stunning mountain views visible from them. There is a large garden which has a BBQ and 2 picnic tables, as well as 3 sun loungers for you to relax on. And I've planted a herb garden and so guests can cook with fresh herbs. To the rear of the garden is a restored garden where myself and Hemingway live. It is possible to store bicycles in the garden and charge ebikes. Other things to note The prices do not include the local tourist tax which costs €2.50 per adult and €1.00 for children (3 to 18) per night. Breakfast is available for an extra cost of €10 per person per night. Laundry is possible for €4 per load. If you are planning to come for 7 nights or longer it is always worth it to write to me...I like to make special offers for my longer term guests in the off season.
