Lake Cottage , "Coniston" Ashburton

Lake Cottage is a small cottage which has a double bed is fully self contained set in 6.5 acres of woodland and formal gardens at "Coniston" Ashburton. In a quiet farm setting only 3 km from the centre of Ashburton and S.H. 1 to Christchurch, Dunedin or Queenstown. Continental breakfast provisions provided, selection of cereals, porridge, fruit, bread, milk, butter and selection of spreads. Selection of teas and coffees. The space Coniston is an historic property dating back to 1853. The large garden features a tree planted to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's visit in 1981 and a plaque marking the 1st Church service held in Ashburton in 1857. There is also the 1885 Chapel, 1920's General store and Motor Garage with Vintage and Classic cars. Guest access Relax and wander through the garden or farm at your leisure or take a row on the Lake or just sit in the rocking chairs and take in the view across the Lake . A guest BBQ area is provided beside the Cottage.
