The living room, with its double-height ceiling and private colonial balcony, offers a truly grand feel. The first level features a dining space for 6 (table from our original mahogany roof) next to an industrial-style kitchen with fridge, stove, and microwave. Rattan lounge chairs, woven by local artisans, invite relaxation. Access a large private balcony from the living room, filled with cacti and offering views to historic colonial architecture – a true 1800s Caribbean veranda. Spiral stairs lead to two upstairs bedrooms and a second bathroom. The main bathroom, showcasing handmade tiles, is conveniently located on the first level. Enjoy our serene common areas: the pool sits below original arches, a unique experience. Guests love relaxing in our minimalist, cacti-filled garden, where parrots are often spotted flying over. Our location is truly privileged and premium. Unlike other streets in Zona Colonial, ours is fully restored and safe, placing you just steps from main landmarks and top restaurants. This restored 1500s villa, part of the first hospital built in America, is a UNESCO Heritage Site. Other things to note 1. No elevator. Bedrooms are on the second floor, accessed by a spiral staircase. It is narrow, for one person at the time. 2. Walls are lime plastered. Lime makes a breathable and anti fungal environment (unlike cement). It has natural antibacterial properties. On some areas, lime paint might show "stains" peel off the wall. This is a natural process (will allow moisture to easily pass through) to gain dry, cool and well ventilated rooms. 3. Our sustainable approach ask guests to moderate power consumption. Lofts feel cool most of time, due to building isolation benefits. Ceiling fan is provided as well. Please close windows if you use AC. Please turn off AC when leaving the loft. 4. This is a tropical country. Weather is always hot and humid. Our suites are bugs free because te take cleaning seriously. However, you might expect mosquitoes and an occasional mouse in the garden lush.
