Beachfront villa David Beach
Description
Come relax in the calm and serene beach village of Assanaoubar (Plage David). Whether you like to fish, surf, dive, hike, bike, or just meditate, you will find your joy here. Gorgeous panoramic views to behold from an open balcony facing only the ocean. The space This tranquil beach house, built in the 1970s by a Frenchman when the surrounding landscape was nothing but forest and ocean, offers a nostalgic and peaceful retreat. By the early 1990s, a small village began to form behind the house, adding a quaint charm to the area. My father purchased the house in 1996 and made a few minor updates, but the main living area remains true to its original design. The house is laid out in a simple, cabin-like style, with all rooms aligned parallel to the shore, so each one offers stunning views of the ocean. When the tide is high, sitting in the living room feels almost like being aboard a boat. One of my favorite features is waking up, still half-asleep, to check the ocean's mood through the window. If the waters are too calm for diving, you can easily drift back to sleep. Between the main house and the beach lies a spacious terrace, perfect for relaxing on comfortable chaise lounges or enjoying meals at the round table, all while taking in the gorgeous, uninterrupted ocean views. Watching the sunset from here is an experience I can hardly put into words. The terrace features a shaded area for dining and an open section for sunbathing. A quaint, creaky door at the end of the terrace leads to an outdoor shower area, ideal for rinsing off after a day on the beach. From here, just a few steps will take you to the sandy shore and the ocean rocks beyond. To the left of the main house, an open-air hallway leads to the terrace, starting with a grilling station. On the opposite side of the house is a two-tiered garden with a small banana tree and other plants, as well as a cozy terrace with a dining table. This side is bathed in morning sunlight and offers a completely different atmosphere from the oceanfront, making it a perfect spot for breakfast while listening to birds chirping and the calls of local merchants selling fresh fish and vegetables. Guest access You will have access to the garden, the main house, which has 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom with stand-up shower. Attached to the main house are 3 smaller rooms facing the open hallway which leads to the ocean-side terrace. The first room has a washer and compartments to store any gear. The second room has a toilet and sink. The third room has a stand-up shower. There is a second building to the left side of the property, but this will unfortunately will remain closed for renovations. Other things to note Throughout the year, during the low season (September to May), the beach village is very calm and quiet, with very few people there. The weekends see slightly more activity as people from the nearby cities come to Plage David to spend the weekend. In the high season (June - August), and especially in August, the village becomes more busy, especially on the side north of the bridge.
