Other things to note FAQ. Q) Where is this Villa located ? Answer: The villa is located approximately 6Km from Pondicherry city centre and 3Km from the Auroville visitors centre. You get a location that gives you the choice of exploring the city and coming back to peace and quiet at the end of the day to relax and unwind. Q) What is the age policy for children? Answer: Children under 6 stay for free. Q) Do you allow pets? Answer : Yes. we welcome guests with pets. However , please be aware that we have 2 dogs living on the property along with some roosters and hens. Pets are not allowed into the bedrooms. An additional pet fee of 2000/- per pet, per day is applicable, a security deposit may be required. Q) Do you have a swimming pool? Answer: No, the property does not have a swimming pool. However, guests can access a swimming pool next door for a fee. The pool is not managed by us, Is open only during daytime and may be shut on some days. Swimwear is mandatory. Q) How far is it from airport and railway station ? Answer: The Villa is approximately 160Km ( around 2.5 hours) drive away from Chennai airport and 6 Km from both the Pondicherry Railway station and the Pondicherry bus station. Q) Do you arrange airport pick up and transfers ? Answer: Yes, we do arrange airport or railway pick ups. We prefer our guest to take this facility as its easier and safe for them. Also eliminates the possibility of being ripped off by cabs. Our charges are as follows – From / to Chennai airport - Rs.3200/- (US$ 45) for 4 people in an Air-conditioned taxi, Rs.4700/- (US$ 70) for 6 people in an airconditioned Van, Rs.8000/- (US$ 100) for up to 14 people in an Air-conditioned van. This includes all taxes, parking and 30 minutes waiting charge. * T&C apply From/To Pondicherry train / bus station – Rs.450/- (US$ 7) for 4 people in an Air-conditioned taxi, Rs.650/- (US$ 11) for 6 people in an airconditioned Van, Rs. 1000/- (US$ 17) for up to 14 people in an Air-conditioned van. This includes all taxes, parking and 30 minutes waiting charge. * T&C apply Q) Do you provide breakfast ? Answer: Yes, Complimentary breakfast on a preset menu is provided between 9 AM and 10 AM. Q) What about tea/coffee? Answer: We provide complimentary morning tea / coffee and tea/ coffee is again served with breakfast. Tea/coffee/juice is available on request at other times and costs 30/-. Q) Is there a power back up ? Answer: Yes there is a battery back up for 1 light and 1 fan in each room. The battery generally lasts up to 3 hours depending on usage. Q) Is the kitchen fully equipped ? Answer: Yes, the kitchen is fully equipped with Gas, microwave, toaster, kettle and all utensils needed. Groceries are available at the market, a 5 minute drive away. Guests will have to get their own groceries in case they wish to cook a meal. Guests will also have to ensure that the gas is turned off when not in use and are responsible for their safety. Basic spices are available in the kitchen. Should you need to use the groceries stocked in the kitchen, please contact the owners ; a charge is applicable. The kitchen is for self catering only, outside cooks will not be allowed to use the kitchen. Guests will have to clean up after use, else a cleaning up fee is applicable. Q) Are there any markets/restaurants close by ? Answer: The Villa is around 1.5 Km from a market that has many shops and stalls selling groceries, fruits, vegetables etc. Many restaurants and fast food joints are within a 10 minute drive away. There is Pizza delivery available to the villa. Q) Is there wifi facility ? Answer: Yes, Wifi Internet is available. However, we do experience internet outages at rare times due to factors beyond our control. We suggest that you carry an internet access device if connectivity is imperative for you. Q) Is there a clothes washing facility ? Answer: Yes , we have a fully automatic washing machine. The clothes are delivered the following day. We have an iron for your use, please ask the housekeeper for the iron. Q) Do you refill the stock like toilet roll, tissue paper etc ? Answer: Yes, if you run out of any of these let us know and we will get it refilled. Q) what are the best means of transport available from the Villa ? Answer: All taxi/auto can be ordered over the phone from the villa. 2 wheeler motorcycles and scooters can be hired from Pondicherry city for the duration of your stay. Alternatively, we can arrange to have rented scooters / bikes ready for you when you reach the villa. The rates are Rs.350/- for automatic scooters and 500/- for motorbikes per day, unlimited mileage, excludes fuel. Id required. Additional security deposit may be required. Public buses stop by request at the toll gate, a 15 minute walk from the villa. The buses will take you into Pondicherry city. Q) Is there space to park the cars? Answer: Yes there is a lot of space to accommodate and park your cars. We also have a small room for your drivers to rest and spend the night.
