Naynaben's Homestay!

This homestay is a part of Hum Sab Ek hain (We are One) initiative of SEWA. SEWA organizes self-employed women workers in the informal economy towards two major goals of full employment and self-reliance. The community learning centre at Dhrangadhra is our home, a part of the larger SEWA family. It represents 50,000 salt-pan workers working in the Little Rann of Kutch. Enjoy traditional Gujarati meals cooked by us, experience the rural way of life and visit the Little Rann of Kutch. The space The house has very spacious and well ventilated rooms accompanied by: • Beds, Chairs and a table • Cupboards for keeping your essentials and clothes • Television for your entertainment • Air conditioner • Attached bathroom and toilet • Spacious courtyard in the premises to relax • Parking space Relish the delectable Gujarati cuisine served along with this. A detailed food menu is attached in the photos section of this listing. Guest access You will have your separate set of keys to access the home. You can also have access to the verandah. You can also visit the office of SEWA which is in the same premises where you can interact with the officials to find many initiatives taken by them to empower women. During your stay We stay in the same house. You can call out to us any time of the day. We can share stories of the life in the desert areas, of salt workers, and of the villages. We can also share information on the attractions in the neighbourhood, the local communities and their traditions. Please join us in pottery making, traditional stone-carving work and our traditional folk dance “Hudo”. You will love the traditional food and the natural surroundings. We can also help you plan desert safaris and tours in the Wild Ass Sanctuary! Other things to note Nayanaben is the local Coordinator and stays in Dhrangadhra town and manages the Community Learning Centre. Also there is a local team of 15 community organisers. A care taker will stay at the centre along with you to facilitate your stay. You can reach her any time of the day.
