Countryside Cidermaker's Cottage

A characterful and lovingly converted 18th century cider makers cottage in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside. The interior is welcoming, cosy and unique. A mix of modern and quirky. Only 7.5 miles from the historic city of Hereford and the market town of Ledbury. An idyllic countryside retreat. Perfect for foodies, walkers, cyclists or a bolthole for getting away from it all. We are only 1.5 hours from Birmingham and Bristol airports and 2 3/4 hours drive from London Heathrow. The space You will see from the photographs that The Cider House is a lovely mix of the very old and very new. The floor boards in the living room come from old cider vats! The huge wood burning stove will keep you toasty, and the large flat screen TV + lots of games in the living room will keep you amused in the evening. There are lots of books and a record player too! Our chickens, Nutty, Milly and Olive will no doubt come over to say hello. Guest access There are 2 dedicated parking spaces next to the cider press for your use. If you need to use an EV charger please let us know. We have an outside plug and a neighbour has fitted EV charging facility which may be used with sufficient notice. Bicycles can be stored in our garden shed, which is lockable and dry. The garden There is a large flat garden at the top of the property for your use. There are tables and chairs ready for relaxing. We leave the very top part as a wild area to encourage wildlife. No doubt our chickens will come over to say hello! You can look forward to barbecues, dining outdoors and relaxing on sunny days. The new kadai fire pit is great for barbecuing and will keep you warm on summer evenings. We also have a gas BBQ available for you to use. Let us know if you want to use them and, we can have them set up ready for you. There is also a badminton net and football net available for some of you who are feeling more energetic! Other things to note We love to promote local producers. Your welcome basket will have a selection for you to try. You might also get a homemade tea time treat! There is a folder on the coffee table in the living room with pretty much everything you want to know about The Cider House and local things to see and do. I'm always happy to give local recommendations, just text. There are low beams as you enter the bedrooms, so dip your head! It's part of the character of the place - you'll see! We have a combination boiler and can set the heating and water timer to suit if needed. To get the best possible bath/shower, just avoid using both at the same time. Woodburner: This will be ready for you to light, and there are extra logs in the log basket. If you need more, there is a small additional charge of £6/large bag (cost to us). Please make sure to use the gloves provided. There is a fire screen available to protect children from heat. Summer picnics: I have a picnic basket and rug that guests can borrow. Just text me if you'd like to use it. We have two Alexa devices available for you to use (in the living room and on the desk upstairs). Please feel free to unplug them if you do not want to use them.
