Slad - lovely rural views

We have lived in Slad for 35 years, it is a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year - our guests can explore the lovely valley and surrounding countryside; we're two miles from Stroud. Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Cotswolds are within easy reach. We have really enjoyed being Airbnb hosts for over 5 years ; we have two rooms available with double beds (but also suitable for single visitors). We have a lovely, lively collie Zelda, so are now getting lots of Slad walks ourselves too! The space Our room is a good size, light, with lovely views of the Slad Valley and is on the first floor. The bed is an antique pine 4ft6 bed. (NB this bed has a footboard so is not suitable for anyone very tall - please ask for further details). Kettle with tea and coffee provided. On the ground floor is a newly refurbished shower/w.c. I am happy to provide breakfast - tea, coffee, juice and cereal/toast etc (at no additional cost), and for guests to share our kitchen (by prior arrangement). Slad is a small village in the Cotswolds, two miles north of Stroud, set in a beautiful valley (as written about by Laurie Lee in Cider with Rosie - we are just across the road from Laurie's childhood home. There are fantastic walks from our front door, including the Laurie Lee Wildlife Way (a 5 mile trail with poetry posts) , and The Woolpack pub is just down the road which serves very good food. Stroud has a wonderful farmers’ market and thriving vintage shops. Painswick (2 miles) is also worth a visit, and further afield are Gloucester (10 miles) and Cheltenham (12 miles) – for shops and horse racing. The various Cotswold villages are also within easy reach. Guest access We're happy for you to share our dining room for tea / coffee / breakfast - or enjoy the view from our first floor garden terrace, best for morning sun. If you wish to make your own evening meals, our kitchen is available for you to use (by prior arrangement).
